I wish this was real, i would actually read Smol Bean a berenstain bears book. And sadly i checked and they don’t go public domain until 2058 :-/
Also while the dude was lecturing on pruning technique there was a guy wandering his front yard in a full, filthy tyvek suit and it was incredibly distracting
Yeah! I was researching breeders to get my toddler one for Christmas and then randomly found someone who needed to emergency rehome one on reddit and suddenly this chill dude is hanging out with us forever :)
Mom, can we have Roadside Picnic???? Kids, we have Roadside Picnic at home. At home:
I’ll be burying her under this tree, where my old cat Kudzu (who she was bonded to) is buried, so they can be together forever.
I had to euthanize my old lady cat Helena this morning, about 36 hours ago she got super lethargic and in a very cat move had been hiding advanced renal failure for a while. Its very sad, she was Smol Bean’s first cat friend.
Bought these for the next time a work meeting starts going off the rails 😂
Pardon My Cheesesteak Its truly an astonishing coincidence that after the foot safe fell from a crane and crushed you, it was immediately followed by a virginal, then a larger safe, then a harpsichord, then a medium size safe, then an upright piano, then a gun safe, then a grand piano. Astonishing
I’ve been joking with most dog owners i meet that it wouldn’t be long before Smol Bean made me adopt a dog… and the universe just beat her to it 😹 Meet Parker! And it’s fate because that’s my dad’s best friend’s name :)

I have beaten my broken dryer so hard with hammers that it shall henceforth be known as Matt Yglesias for the teat of its short life
Sooooooooo guess who forgot to check if the dryer was empty before rolling it up the steps and was greeted 3/4 of the way up by a laundryfall? Also i ripped the lint trap lid off and just casually tossed it down the chute, my tenant was watching and she fell down laughing
Lol Princess Doughnut trying to nuke things unseen, she has the exact same amount of tactical sense as Iron Man. “I have a plan. ATTACK.”
Dudes rock, imagine rolling a 3000 lb boulder down a hill at your truck 😂😂😂 archive.is/3eQUq
One of my beat backyard seismograph captures, a 5.6 quake in Mendocino this morning as measured in Portland, look at that GORGEOUS P and S wave separation 😍
Mexicolas! A landrace from Mexico, the trees are good to 15F and there’s nothing like them for sitting on your couch pretending to be megafauna :)
Friends! Come say hi to me at Alberta Last Thursday this week! I’ll be vending, possibly with @authorjbustard.bsky.social , and we’ll have books, rocks, and plants; i’m upping my game this year by bringing a bucket of free fig rootings, oak trees, and will have cut stones and giant monstera for sale
Please enjoy my favorite chocolate marketing courtesy of Ukraine, a country entirely populated by madmen.
I asked my coworker if he knew what sort of IT task a specific request was and he responded with a link to the support request page. Related, here’s an actual MRI of his brain after a year and a half of outsourcing all his thinking to genAI.
I’m not sold on this book so far — the long description of FGM was pretty upsetting — but damn its got some banger chapter titles.
