Hey, did you follow me over from Twitter? Welcome. I'm most known for my TEDx Talk, "How to Get Stuff Done When You Are Depressed" and my blog Fashionably ill ®. Surviving pain with style and humor. #MentalHealth #Disability
Behind the Scenes photo from today: While waiting for the photographer to come, Mini-me Barbie (Barbie in red / white sailor dress, pink prosthetic leg) said, "let's take a selfie!"
Cont. -Per LA Dept of Disabilities... "Charcoal gray background of the flag represents mourning and rage. It honors disabled people who have died due to systemic ableism, including lack of access to healthcare, violence...
Today is #ADA36! On July 26, 1990, President Bush signed the Americans with Disabilities Act into law. My Barbies decided to mark the occasion -both the ADA and my club, #DisabledBarbies, reaching 1K members. Bald Barbie in all black sitting (she has alopecia) is carrying the Disability Pride Flag.
Yesterday, Mini-me Barbie moderated a panel at a conference about immigration and mental health. (My suit was green but my doll doesn't have a green suit.) Last week, she wore a hot pink suit. Mini-me is immunocompromised and has a mobility disability. #DisabilityPrideMonth #DisabledBarbiesOfBlueSky
July is #DisabilityPrideMonth. Here's a picture of me with my disabled Barbies - I am holding my Mini-me Barbie; she has a mobility disability like me. We also have long black hair, black eyes, and similar skin tone, facial features. But my hair is up because it's too hot. #DisabledBarbiesOfBlueSky
Mini-me Barbie says 'Good luck to everyone with heat intolerance!' One of the hardest things about being disabled is heat intolerance. We'll survive...I think. #DisabledBarbiesOfBlueSky
Happy birthday my friend! Wishing you all good things in the coming year.
I'll be speaking at Advancing the Field of Alternative Response 2026 Convening in Chicago on June 4–5 hosted by @policingproject.bsky.social at @nyulaw.bsky.social , CICS @georgetownlaw.bsky.social + @mobile-services.bsky.social .
I'm in March! Work has been...a lot. Traveling to talk to lawmakers... Plus my club that i started in January - #DisabledBarbies - has taken up some time but is fun. We have almost 900 members now. It's one way I stay sane with...checks notes...everything happening.
Happy Easter from Mini-me Barbie and friends! #DisabledBarbiesOfBlueSky Left to right: Penny, Danica, Penelope, Mini-me Barbie and Lily have vitiligo, Type 1 Diabetes, autism, a mobility disability and Down Syndrome, respectively. They are taking pictures with red and yellow tulips.
Happy Birthday, Barbie! Picture of Mini-me Barbie (center, yellow outfit) with my 9 other disabled Barbies. They have mobility disabilities, autism, diabetes, visual impairment, Down Syndrome, vitiligo, HOH/deaf / require hearing aids, and alopecia. #DisabledBarbiesOfBlueSky #Barbie
Mini-me celebrated her birthday with family -- balloons; I always love balloons and Mexican paletas. Last week, we were in Vegas with my cousins at New Kids on the Block concert and we also saw Wizard of Oz at the Sphere. #DisabledBarbiesOfBlueSky
Mini-me Barbie before the New Kids on the Block show tonight in Las Vegas. My cousins had the idea to go to celebrate me finishing grad school and my upcoming birthday. They were fabulous. #DisabledBarbiesOfBlueSky
This is one of my new girls - she has clear hearing aids and is stylish in her pink on pink outfit. I call her Iris. #DisabledBarbiesOfBlueSky
Today, Mini-me flew to Vegas. My first vacation in 4 years. It was hard being a FT employee with chronic illnesses and finishing grad school (yay it's done; I finished in December). My cousins + I are celebrating the end + my upcoming birthday by watching NKOTB tomorrow...#DisabledBarbiesOfBlueSky
I finally got the new autistic Barbie! Mini-me Barbie and the other girls welcomed her today. I am still not sure what to name her... #DisabledBarbiesOfBlueSky
It's been less than two weeks since I started it but the #DisabledBarbies sub surpassed 100 members today! People share pics of their Barbies with diverse disabilities from #AutisticBarbie to Barbie with hearing aids, ones with prosthetic legs, & wheelchairs... www.reddit.com/r/DisabledBa...

Are you going to get the forthcoming Asian Barbie with vitiligo? if I didn't have a Barbie with vitiligo already, I probably would but i have Penny
oh yes I love that face! Similar to mini-me (Deluxe Style 2) but much lighter skin tone, subtle differences. I have green top yoga Barbie and I adore her.
Kit has such an expressive face! I changed her lipstick color for this picture. I love Kit's hair; Mattel is capable of greatness when they choose so.
Mini-me Barbie and I say, "Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night." #Fashionablyill #DisabledBarbiesOfBlueSky
@mmd11.bsky.social Happy holidays to you! Thank you for your supportive words; really helped me through this latest (ongoing) bout with ear infections, migraine. I even made it to Christmas Eve service.
