The neighbor's hen on her daily visit

A beautiful and very smart looking hen, she has golden, cream colored feathers on the lower portion of her body and chest and black and gold feathers on her neck. Typical red comb and wattles, and a vivid yellow beak. Her eye is also golden, bright and intelligent. At her feet are sunflower seeds, some whole, some just shells and a piece of watermelon reading for the pecking.

Description of this surrealist painter's work is difficult at best. Think of exterior columns but make them represent a house instead. Two of the columns appears to have a reddish, leafy, vining plant growing up it. There is a background that looks like a nighttime blue with a moon illuminating a sky, perhaps. There's a doorway but who knows where it leads? There's a window that is open to a starry night sky. I'd need hours to be able to properly describe this painting.

The painting has a wolfish figure in darkest shadow in the foreground, a humanoid figure, also in shadow, behind it. The humanoid has what may be a crook but looks more like a sword to me. A tower can be seen in the background with filigree-looking trees. The moon or sun appears to be in eclipse with a sky that ranges from ocher to burnt orange, all very muted. There is a misty quality to this painting.

My dad was doing some gardening today and sent these photos. He "says" it's a zebra caterpillar 🤨

A caterpillar or a Lovecraftian monster on an aralia bush. Since the photo originated in Florida, both possibilities are equally likely.

A close-up of this "caterpillar" but really it's the face of friendly demon staring at you, boring into your soul. You will never be the same again.
