I'm going to have a stroke. "scholarships...are hardly the main concerns for most female athletes"??? "Trans girls are going to take your daughter's athletic scholarship" has been one of the core arguments to parents to oppose trans kids' participation in youth sports.
Oh yeah, guess what, I was right. Sports are too aggressive for girls and teach them that they are strong and can be "less deferential" (he doesn't say less deferential TO WHOM but the answer can only be: To men. To husbands.)
Please someone explain to me like I'm five how this new approach to women's sports (not requiring parity with men's sports in terms of opportunity) serves the "broader good" of "family." Because that sure sounds like closing doors to women in sports so they can get married and have babies?
Look who is actually anti-women's sports You're never going to be able to guess it on your own You will def never guess it's the people who have been SAVING WOMEN'S SPORTS from approximately 28 trans girls nationwide. www.heritage.org/gender/repor...
This woman has been the subject of three NYT pieces in 2025-26
Bro the Belgium jersey is a multi layered homage to René Magritte and nobody told me???
Live look, USMNT has taken off its shoes and one of its socks
My friend here watches it all. He’s seen a lot. I think he thinks we will make it through.
The Lincoln memorial needs nothing at all to make it more special, but the sunset pitched in anyway
This is the view as you walk along the mall past all the Smithsonian museums
Our national celebration on the mall, through a fence because my work bag is too big for me to get past security.
favorite* part of my job is when political groups scrape my email and sign me up for shit like this
Henry's face here is so funny I think the kids call this mogging
Alexi Lalas is the kind of guy who doesn’t try when he knows he’s outmatched because he thinks he can pretend that getting casually smoked like this was just because he couldn’t be bothered.
It’s time to get re-trained as an election judge / poll worker. I cannot imagine how much harder the job of running elections has become. Our trainer is excellent at setting expectations and affirming that we are how democracy works, regardless of our personal opinions.
In America, people with HIV are more likely to die from smoking than from causes related to HIV itself. Yesterday I was lucky to host two experts who broke down why, and what healthcare and public health folks can do about it, with compassion and pragmatism. www.rstreet.org/events/hiv-a...
Coastal elites gonna coastal elite, even when they think they’re complimenting you. He’s right on “freezing” (not right now - it’s gorgeous) and usually right on “pragmatic.” Everything else is just lazy, broad-brush invention
If you’re going to spend your evening reading about methadone, it might as well be someplace like this
If you drag a $100 bill through my TL this is what you’ll get
