I find it fascinating when men can recognize something is bleak when it's a man they don't like or in service of something they don't respect but this is just patriarchy. I'm not loving the himpathy we extend misogynistic men & sexual predators. Framing them as alienated, isolated, disaffected when these are entitled men, angry at not receiving what they feel they're owed, refusing to do any work on their personalities & to build a healthy community.

When we say misogyny & sexual violence are SYSTEMIC, not individualized acts of violence individual victims are responsible for addressing, this is what we mean. Men coordinate & cooperate, they enforce, protect, & enable, they create & control the system. To oppress women & seek status among men.

Read this story earlier & came here looking to follow the reporter based on this bit at the end only to learn he himself has a history of abuse against women. Which is my daily reminder that women have no allies & we can't trust men with our liberation.

This is true but I think it's important to point out that women feel compelled to soften their language & show they can be objective as a means of seeking credibility. Women are, by default, viewed as untrustworthy & malicious. When women report abusive men, they try to appear fair, not vindictive.

We really need to talk about how appealing sexual abuse allegations are to voters of all claimed politics.

What's the point of blocking people here? Other than that it erases receipts & prevents vetting followers because we can't see if they follow shitty people. Seems like a feature to protect abusive people more than general users.

I've had this person blocked since Dec when they first randomly added me to a bunch of lists. I don't think we've even interacted once & yet they regularly add me to lists they delete & recreate. Allowing harassment lists even after a user is blocked is just one of the many reasons I hate it here.

Again, the additional problem with running men with histories of exploiting & abusing women is the collateral damage to all victims who are subjected to ppl dictating what Real Victims must do & act like, even down to normalizing rape because victims didn't say the magic words during a narrow window

And people do this so the ideology driving them to ignore patterns & the misogyny behind treating women as objects for sexual conquest isn't identified, or the solidarity with it. This is rape culture.
