Book # 23 of 2026. “The Book of X” (Sarah Rose Etter). Genres: horror, surrealist, feminist, dystopian. Rating: 2/5 ⭐️ This one was very original, but really not for me. Suuuuper bleak. I also feel kinda bad that I hated the MC. 🫠

Book # 21 of 2026. “How To Hide an Empire” (Daniel Immerwahr). Genres: nonfic, history, politics. Rating: 2.5/5⭐️ The first half was interesting although I was already familiar with Puerto Rico’s story. Last half felt pretty disorganized. Good idea overall, but a bit overhyped IMO.

Book # 19 of 2026. “Black Cowboys of Rodeo” (Keith Ryan Cartwright). Genres: nonfiction, history, rodeo. Rating: 2.5/5 ⭐️ This was fine but not what I was expecting. Feels like pre-written, formulaic bios from past magazine features. Works better as a reference book than a straight read-through.
