Still need to paint the smiles but look at all these Ahti figures. A new Alan is next.
My first @lostincult.co.uk order arrived today. I can already tell their quality is amazing and I'm very much looking forward to the Alan Wake book later this year!
I did one that I went overboard on trying to detail. I ended up making Yoda.
For my Little Guyz figures I'm going to try and list them in sets of 3. Next set is going to be Alan, Ahti, and an undecided third one. Suggestions?
Had a massive headache last night exacerbated by having to stop this 30 hour print half way through because the filament wasn't loading. Somehow this tiny piece broke off in the extruder. No clue how it even got there because I had a successful print with the same arrangement the day before.
Finished Jesse this morning. Went with a normal black filament for her shoes and jacket and a matte black for her pants and eyes. Creates a very color subtle effect.
🔻NEW LISTING🔻 My Control little guyz figures are now available. Dylan, Darling, and Jesse are here after nearly 100 hours of 3d printing, not counting prototyping. Shares very much appreciated. No generative ai used, that stuff sucks. shawnjpb.etsy.com/listing/4547...
Dylan Faden figures done! Plan is to model a Jesse this weekend, just have to find the time.
19 hours and 40ish minutes to go on the Dylan figures. Pretty easily the longest print job so far.
False start on the Dylan prints. Basically, even going very slow the petg interface didn't have enough surface area to really lay down and it just stuck to the nozzle as it laid down. Added some support enforcers to see if that solves the issue.
Eventually I do want to bring back this Alan figure. With the new printer I'll rework it in blender. Some things stay the same (feet, legs, hands) everything else tho will be pretty much completely redone.
Casper Darling little guyz coming soon. Dylan as well and maybe a Jesse???
Did a rough print (supports left a mess) but Dylan is looking very cute and angry. Going with the crossed out FBC logo as a separate piece, opens up another color for the figure and cuts a little bit of time off the print.
It's not the cleanest modeling, but one thing I don't do is combine and remesh all my shapes together in Blender. This lets me pretty easily select each part to color with the fill bucket in the slicer instead of tediously painting everything. Slicer painting is just not the most pleasant thing
9 of these guys is going to take just shy of 27 hours to print. Long print, however absolutely no post processing needed! I suppose I'll need to do Jesse and Dylan too, huh.
First color test printing. Should see how it looks in like nearly 7 hours.
Got a lot to draw today but I've wanted to start modeling a little Casper Darling for awhile and then my hand slipped oops.
Fellow art book lovers, Art of Over the Garden Wall is getting an expanded reprint next February. If it's like the original it could go out of print and be very expensive on ebay.
I'm exhausted and stressed out but on my way back from the post office I found a big screwdriver in a box marked free so now I have a bug screwdriver.
Small thing but I can now print the Diner part in black. On the old printers the black would bleed into the other colors and it was just another filament change waste. New printer tho makes that a non factor
Buttercupdate: his cheek swelling has gone down, almost gone actually, little scab on his face. Throughout this entire ordeal his personality has not changed at all. Little man has been enjoying his wet food. Yes, I really do need to vacuum.
