Freelance anime reviewer for ANN and local grunt of the Dub Talk Podcast. I am very opinionated. You have been warned
67. Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender Pretty ridiculous this wasn't put in theatres because the animation looked absolutely gorgeous. Plot was a bit predictable, but I liked the attempt to address the eradication of the Airbenders in a more meaningful way and it was nice to see the gang back together
Ah looks like we're finally just one week away from Welcome to Demon School Iruma-kun showing its true power level
I didn't think it was possible for the adaptation of The Elusive Samurai to be more unhinged than the manga, but god bless the beautiful bastards at Cloverworks
"The Elusive Samurai is a historical drama"
You've heard of incels or scaring the maidens but get ready for:
66. My Hero Academia Season 7 The dreaded "Shonen Jump Final Arc Syndrome" sets in something fierce here with how padded a lot of this feels, but rather than contradicting itself in its attempts to put a bow on everything it suffers from doubling down (1/2)
Also...yeah the punchline here seems pretty obvious, but Kumugi deserves nothing but good things so come on and do her a solid, Nishi #IchiTheWitch
Considering the whole thing of Majiks getting dragged into servitude for Witches is probably the biggest asterisk in this how the world of this series functions, I'm definently curious to see how Nishi addreses it #IchiTheWitch
65. The Odyssey (2026) Haven't read The Odyssey since middle school so can't really speak to how good an adaptation this is beyond the bits I could recall, but as a film this was pretty solid. Kinda wish the supernatural elements weren't downplayed as much but I guess that's on brand for Nolan
Makes it worth truding through to the next Sunday
Without saying your age, what's your favorite movie that came out when you were 18?
Did not have "magic incel" on my list of directions Ichi the Witch could go in for its next antagonist, but I'll take it #IchiTheWitch
Now if you were to ask which anime do I HATE the most, these two are kind of neck and neck (I can forgive shows with horrific animation or poor script writing but these two have damaged the public psyche of stories I love by association and I will never forgive them for that)
Me after Dai Shogun: "Well that was probably a once in a decade production meltdown that will never be matched" The Ex-Arm team 6 years and 9 months later:
When it comes to both bad animation and bad scriptwriting, Ex-Arm and Dai Shogun are both pretty atrocious (Honestly insane the latter didn't do more to tank Dai Sato's rep, but I guess people were too distracted by plastic looking animation to draw attention to the writing)
64. Blue Box This really set itself apart from JUMP's usual romcoms with it's more down to earth characters and slow moving drama, but it had a heck of a run and managed to balance between being a romance manga and a sports one seamlessly. More than deserving of being JUMP's longest romance series
63. Strange Days Second film recommedation for the month and I mostly dug it. Thought the concept of experiencing the memories of others as vouyerism was interesting along with the social commentary on the Y2K scare and police brutality against Black people. Not perfect, but respect the ambition
On that note, the fact that Lex's warsuit(?) looks like a Freeza cosplay is absolutely hysterical *chef's kiss*
The average Bleach fight in a nutshell #DrawThisThenDie
Well I guess that's one way to address the whole Manga One scandal
Was sharing this theory on Discord, and in light of the most recent episode, I think I see the vision for where the rest of My Adventures With Superman is going
62. The Elusive Samurai- Bonus Chapter Basically what it says on the tin in regards to seeing all the characters in modern day guises but I thought the message that every person has a role to play in history was a good one and bits like Akiie being an idol that verbally abuses fans were inspired
Feeling more confident Imu won't survive this arc without his face getting caved in so I guess we really ARE in endgame One Piece
