This year I had the chance to go for fishing to Lake Alakol in eastern Kazachstan. Very nice place - cool fish and great birding.

Some more lichens from Macedonia, now species growing usually on soil. Names in ALT texts. In Germany, these lichens occur only very local. But in the south, they are widely distributed.

We see rollers several times in Macedonia. Always nice - maybe this species continues to come back to Germany?

Oak processionary Thaumetopoea processionea has a strong year in Berlin. We see many almost leafless trees, and the press picks it up- panic... We'll all be ill soon. But here, most of the caterpillars are dying or are already the victims of enemies.

Spent 10 absolutely great days in Macedonia to photograph fishes. Beside there was also a bit time to see other biodiversity. In next days I will share some of the highlights. This is Salmo ohridanus - endemic to Lake Ohrid.
