Some old guy named Jeff
@jfrv
I love good weird music, from all recorded time & from all over the joint. Also good ale, good & bad movies, hockey. My best friend is a big big dog. I'm left-handed & left of center. PA to Denver, Denver to Alaska, sadly back in PA. Help.
40 years ago. It was like being in a frying pan, thick black tarp covering the field. I got severe sun-poisoning all over my face, except for a small circle in the middle of my forehead where someone had stuck a sticker & I'd forgotten about it. I looked really funny for a couple weeks.
30 years ago tonight. I lost all my ticket stubs when I was kicked out of Alaska, but this is what they looked like. Such a great drummer, lived in Denver & sat in with "jam" bands a little after Porno For Pyros went bust.
Finish the job of getting a fair deal on resources that should be left unextracted? I can't believe their political machine chose that slogan. Finish the job of screwing citizens of Alaska so a few global citizens can get richer, pretty much all I saw when I was there.
My Apple mouse is very old, disconnects frequently, but is expensive to replace. I'm in some weird thing called Knowledge Panel. Fill out surveys, earn points. Never looked at it much, but today I randomly looked, & am now getting a free Apple mouse!
Friendly little game of NHL hockey in Montreal tonight. Habs went up 3-1. Buffalo came back to win 8-3. Game 7 in Buffalo Monday night. Good stuff.
Republicans have caused the local emergency room to close. I'd intended to go there today (swollen elbow, have to be wary of possible infection), but was told it was already shut down.
Gee golly whiz, thanks for sharing election results before there are any election results, NPR!
Just wasted over an hour trying to "log in" to some stupid "portal" to submit a form, only to be told that the form can only be submitted without "logging in" to the stupid "portal." Since I had to plug the scanner in anyway, here's an old thing I've been wanting to scan. From Flying Dog brewery.
Hopefully now more of my neighbors will understand what the numbers on my wheelchair mean.
Email from Big Cabbage Radio in my old Alaska hometown. Radio Free Palmer, it was called at first. When it began they had a lot of opera, & some Billie Holiday. That was all the music they had. It was the world's weirdest radio station. I wish I could do something like that in this town.
5 years ago I had to say goodbye to the greatest dog I've ever known, my best friend in the truest sense. I was busy getting ready to be kicked out of my home of 15 years. Some days Mojo was fine, others he was a mess. He got worse. The morning of April 14 I knew he'd had enough.
My feed goes from now to 2 hours ago. Then it skips to 13 days ago. That's pretty weird.
& here is the camera that Apple has made obsolete (as far as I can tell). Purchased in 2003. It has served me well, & I'm angry that Apple has decided to make it useless. The bastards didn't even ask me.
So now I have to figure out how the camera on my ha ha "smart" phone works. Here is the enormous dew claw.
If you look at the things this one posts, it becomes quickly obvious that he's very confused. Half the stuff appears anti-trump, half is full-on stupid. "Russia hoax" was enough justification for me to block him. bsky.app/profile/spee...
When I finally escaped this town I first moved to Williamsport PA & went to college. I still have friends there, that I haven't seen for 35 years & never talk to. The local paper there used to be very conservative, so it surprised me a lot when I saw this.
It occurs to me that AI could lead to a huge decrease in charitable donations. How do you know who to trust? Same as it ever was, but worse. Comment from a Guardian post about aid groups using fake AI "photos" to get donations.
I heard someone say that there were "close to 265" attendees at the No Kings rally in this sad little town. There were young people this time! There were even 4 or 5 persons of color! People passing by yelled & honked their horns, many in support, but some simply displaying how oblivious they are.
Center for Biological Diversity now offers the option to share their stuff on "Blueky." Little things like this amuse me greatly.
After 2 periods, the Buffalo Sabres are 150% on the power play. Wow! Whoever's posting this thing must be using trump math.
People will hate me for not wearing yellow. I just know it. I spent so much time in that Presbyterian church when I was a kid. Sunday school, youth group, "services." My mother was a big shot there. I'm glad they're on the right side. I like the official Presbyterian stance on Israel too.
I have nothing yellow except some hospital socks. But if I had time & money...
Grateful Dead "rare tapes" fundraiser special for KGNU tomorrow night. Times listed are Mountain timezone, which we can all agree is the best timezone.
This ugly graffiti first appeared in the mid-1960s. I disagree. Clapton's music bores me, & he's a creep. If I was good at graffiti I'd start this up again, replacing "Clapton" with "Claypool." Les never bores, & he's a good person (as far as I know). Born 9/29/63. www.youtube.com/watch?v=jmWp...
Pennsylvania finally processed my request (made in June) to register as a Democrat instead of Independent. Now I can vote for whoever challenges Fetterman in the primary. I'm looking forward to that.
