I think this warrants a crosspost with @adamcsharp.bsky.social. In Brazil (or in Rio de Janeiro, anyway), some old-timey obelisk-shaped bollards used to be nicknamed "fradinho" ("little friar"). The shape and element of recent ones have changed, but the name remains.
