For real the survey is terribly biased, and the only way to say you don’t want AI is to write it into a scant couple of text boxes. Why is it our government’s job to “encourage AI adoption?”

Survey question is: “What types of support would be most useful to encourage AI adoption?” There is no “none” or “other” option. Options range from access to training to easier access to collective content licensing.”

Nova Scotia is Novascoting pretty hard today

This is our final alarm bell! We just learned that Signal, the world's most secure messaging app, will pull out of Canada entirely if they're forced into this so-called "lawful access" regime without major changes.1 Similar warnings are being raised by Apple,2 Meta,3 popular VPN companies Proton, Windscribe, and NordVPN, the Cybersecurity Advisors Network, and the chairs of the U.S. House Judiciary and Foreign Affairs Committees.4,5

Yet the Standing Committee on Public Safety and National Security (SECU) is already nearly done reviewing the bill.6 Shockingly, the government has promised only three witness meetings to hear about necessary fixes before voting it through.7,8 To date, not a single rights defending organization has been called to testify — but we're working around the clock to change that!9

If you want to stop Ottawa’s attack on your privacy and democracy, please give what you can to support our fight against this dangerous mass surveillance bill.

There's not even actual work "in AI"! I've complained before about how one of the harder aspects of contract work is keeping all the communication and project management apps straight. What this writer describes is ONLY that. A bunch of unpaid setup and then dismissal, over and over; a nightmare.

"Between February and April 2026, I was hired and fired on seven different projects over four different platforms. The dismissals were always abrupt, shocking. One moment I would be typing rubrics into an Airtable, waiting in line on a 24-hour Zoom to talk through a task with a reviewer. The next, the UI would vanish. The Slack channel would disappear. The Google docs would lock me out. No message. No warning. No explanation."

This was the specific email. Super industry-context specific. The giveaway is that there are absolutely not 8 studios a month noticing that something isn't clicking with their game narrative. This is an industry where we like to fuck around and find out by shipping things that don't connect 😆
