The @phish show about ready to get started at the Amp and a line of storms should arrive between 8:40-8:50 pm with heavy rain, wind gusts to 40 mph+ and perhaps some hail. Right now there is no warning on this storm. @EmpowerFCUAmp @phish

We've dodged the storms in Syracuse this afternoon, but a cold front moving through will bring storms into the Syracuse area in the 8 pm hour with gusty, damaging winds, hail and heavy downpours. #nywx

Certainly a head scratcher as to why Air Quality Alerts are currently in effect as AQI values in CNY are the lowest we've seen in at least 3 days. The Alert expires at midnight BUT I feel there is more concern with the smoke overnight and just after sunrise Saturday. #nywx

Hottest day of 2026 in Syracuse today breaking a 74 year old record for the date. Still some time for temperatures to warm so we may not be done for the day. #nywx

Syracuse has had just less than .25" of rain over the last week. Some spots closer to the Tug Hill less than .10" We are going into a 7 day stretch where much of the region won't see much if any rain. No drought conditions as of now, but this won't help. #nywx

While not as hot as last week, Syracuse's temperatures are climbing close to 90 degrees the next few days. We should see an increase in humidity as well. #nywx

Heavier shower headed toward Brewerton (with the 'x') which has one of the areas larger fireworks displays this evening. This shower is moving quickly and should clear the area by 9 pm. Showers farther NW out over Lake Ontario look to be weakening. #nywx

Severe T-Storm Warnings in effect north and west of Syracuse as a line of storms capable of winds to 60 mph plus moves east. The ETA in Syracuse for these storms is just before 9:30 pm. #nywx

"Back building" of storms in Oneida County south of Utica has caused up to 2" of rain in the last hour with heavy rain still falling. Flash Flood Warning has been issued until 11:30 pm as flooding is occurring and at least one road is blocked off. #nywx

Nasty cell dropping southeast through eastern Madison and southern Oneida Counties. 60 mph winds are quarter sized hail most likely BUT there is also some rotation in the storm, too. #nywx

Line of storms stretches east across Lake Ontario to the Tug Hill/ADKs and is moving south at about 35 mph. Has the potential for wind gusts to 40 mph, frequent lightning and torrential rain. Comes onshore in Oswego in 15 to 20 minutes and close to Syracuse between 2-3 am #nywx

Today's 88° in Syracuse will likely be the 'coolest' day of the next six. Near record territory with heat indices Wed/Thursday between 100°-105°. Although there are questions of timing and coverage, a few severe storms are also a possibility Tuesday. #nywx

After another round of late day storms, we get this nice this nice sunset in Syracuse this evening!

We are now up to 10 days in a row without measurable rain at the Syracuse airport ( Trace on three of those days). Most since last September (15 days) but record is 25 days in May/June 1949 and September 1908🌧️🚫
