Number 6 While they were genuinely breaking new ground with this record I think that Fun House is the better and probably the ultimate Stooges album. That's the only reason I can think of for leaving it out of my final 5. #5DebutAlbumsSF2

Number 7 Getting difficult to cut these down now so I'll have to be ruthless. I'm a huge fan of the Spector Wall Of Sound snd and nothing illustrates it better than this record. Ronettes don't get the recognition or respect they deserve. #5DebutAlbumsSF2

Number 8 Got a free copy of this from a friend working in my local Golden Discs when it came out because somebody stole the sleeve. It blew me away then and it's still so good. A very hypnotic record. #5DebutAlbumsSF2

Number 9 While it's a good album it took me a while to get into it and I rarely listen to it. Never really took to Bobs solo stuff in the way I took to Grants. #5DebutAlbumsSF2

Better late than never counting down from 10 to 5. Number 10 Love this. Such an organic record. No bells and whistles. Sounds like you're in the room with them. #5DebutAlbumsSF2

11 into 10 won't go. While this is a brilliant record it probably paved the way for their take on The Who Sell Out for the 90s. i.e So Tough. I loved the way they brought classic English 60s pop to the dance floor. Won't make the 10 unfortunately. #5DebutAlbumsSF2

This album completely bypassed me first time round and it took me years to appreciate it. Problem was I hate The Fugees but this is something special. It reminds me of a classic early 70s Stevie Wonder album at times. Can't fit it in my final 10 though. #5DebutAlbumsSF2

He was almost like the David Bowie of techno. Always seemed to be ahead of the game and some of his ideas were so bizarre they shouldn't have worked, but they did. Sounds so fresh to this day. Just can't fit it in my final 10. #5DebutAlbumsSF2

While the songs are as good as the other 3 albums it just doesn't hit the spot like the others. It just sounds a bit sterile as if they could have did a bit more. Villiers Terrace used to be an absolute monster live back in the day. I'm leaving this one out. #5DebutAlbumsSF2

Down to the final 15 and I've no idea how this will end up. I'll cut it to 10 today and I'll reluctantly start with this....great record still sounds incredible but it won't go any further. #5DebutAlbumsSF2

There's some incredible songs on those two Band albums but there's also quite a few fillers. At this level you need 11 top quality players on the pitch so I'm leaving this one out. #5DebutAlbumsSF2

While I'm a huge Throwing Muses fan the debut isn't their finest as they just got better with every record. It won't make my final 5. #5DebutAlbumsSF2

From about 83 onwards post punk started to change into "intelligent pop music"...Prefab Sprout,Blue Nile, The The ect. Had its moments but never my thing. This debut has its moments but won't go any further than final 25. #5DebutAlbumsSF2

I think everyone goes through their Doors phase. I had mine in my teens and then just went completely off them. Can only listen to the 1st and last album now. Nothing in between. Needless to say the debut won't make my final 5. #5DebutAlbumsSF2

Number 1 I've been searching for the young soul rebels I've been searching everywhere and I'm finally getting to see them live in November. Arguably the best debut album ever. I never tire of it. #5DebutAlbumsSF1

Number 2 When I bought this many years ago it changed everything for me. I can still remember that feeling hearing Sunday Morning for the first time. Timeless record. #5DebutAlbumsSF1

Number 3 Iggy, David and Tony. This was the predecessor to Low and in my opinion should be included in the Berlin trilogy. Iggys finest. #5DebutAlbumsSF1

Number 4 Hip Hop, jazz ,easy listening and a bit of film noir all blended together to make this incredible unique musical cocktail. #5DebutAlbumsSF1

Have to do this early so here goes. Number 5 Arguably the most innovative record of the 90s. This soundtracked so many dawns for me. #5DebutAlbumsSF1

Number 6 Gram and Emmylou's debut..even though it doesn't feel like a debut. Not a million miles away from the Burritos. Very hard to leave this one out. #5DebutAlbumsSF1

Number 7 While it's not a completely perfect album some of the songs here represent her best work...in particular Jerusalem and Troy... Really enjoyed listening to this again over the last few weeks. #5DebutAlbumsSF1

Number 7 I don't think Roxy Music really reached their peak until album 3 but they were doing stuff on this record that nobody else was doing. Seriously considered this for my top 5. #5DebutAlbumsSF1

Number 9 I'm not a huge fan of any Beatles solo stuff but this is the only one that comes anywhere near to the greatness they achieved as a band...and it has one or two dodgy songs on it so it's not perfect. #5DebutAlbumsSF1

Time to cut 10 down to the final 5. Number 10 He probably went on to make better records but as a debut this is stunning. Especially the ballads which always suited that incredible voice. #5DebutAlbumsSF1

Two albums that pointed the way to the future of electronic music at the time while simultaneously nodding to the past...particularly to the reggae sound systems. Both great records but just missing out on my final 10. #5DebutAlbumsSF1

Has to be one of the most underrated and possibly influential debuts ever. Years ahead of its time. Hard to believe this was released in 1973. However it'll go no further than my final 15. #5DebutAlbumsSF1
