Sam Neill gets due love for Jurassic Park but his performance in Event Horizon made such an impression on me as a kid (I saw it in a theater when I was 11) that I still hold it in the highest regard. People like to boast that they can do things with their eyes closed, and he did that here. RIP

It’s my fault for putting anyone in this industry on a pedestal but I really didn’t think Marty would cave to AI. And anyone saying it’s “just storyboards” is ignorant of the historically human aspect of that process and how beautiful it can be. After all, Marty illustrated his own for years.

It was a major coup for me to show THE DEVILS on 35mm (from WB) back in 2017, which is the last time I saw it projected and we had Q&A with Lisi Tribble and special guest Randy Jones of The Village People. Cannot wait to watch it on a big screen again in Cannes next week!

When do we stop acting like Blockbuster was a force for good? Wild that even former employees can be nostalgic for a corporation that created something akin to the monopolies we are seeing from major media conglomerates now. We also don’t need to shut down streaming services to foster community.
