This paragraph gave me an epiphany about Matty Y. It's not that he doesn't understand how politics words. It's that fundamentally, he doesn't understand *what politics is.*

What I would ask of everyone at the table is simply that they respect the diversity of America and the wisdom of trying to compete effectively across this vast and varied land rather than trying to cancel each other. And I would urge people whose passion in life is shifting public opinion rather than responding to it to find a different line of work than electoral politics.

I turn now to the delicate task of thanking wives. The project owes much to Debra Lavender Zaller, to whom I was married when I began it. In fact, although she never articulated it in so many words, the theory of the survey response, which takes up much of the book, derives from her insights. Without her, the book in its present form would simply not exist. I thank her most sincerely.

My debt to my present wife is even more profound. Barbara Geddes has read and helped me to improve upon everything I have written since I have known her. Her capacity for seeing what I am trying to say no matter how badly I have expressed it never ceases to amaze me. And she never gets headaches. This meme is clearly AI. But you can't generate it without being able to communicate to the AI that the Democratic coalition is made up of a diverse group of people who care about different issues and sometimes work at cross purposes with each other. Which is exactly what I wanted to teach.
