PhD Religious Studies. South Asia, scifi, human rights, disability, nationalism. She/her. I talk about Star Trek too much but oh well.
Today is my 58th birthday, and I'm feeling a little overwhelmed. Semester prep, financial strains, general dystopia are weighing on me heavily. But I'm healthy (afaik), big school loan got forgiven last month, and I have free cake from Publix waiting for me, so I guess I can't complain.
I have bought a loom. My descent into hardcore fiber arts continues lol.
1) If these are her mugshots, she should order prints, she's gorgeous 2) the look in her eyes and smile are *chefs kiss * 3) If you're going to get arrested, THIS is the way to do it. #goals
Now that school loans got forgiven, I can take on a car payment again. My 2016 Fiesta was at 130k miles...served me well for 10+ years. This morning traded in and bought a Hyundai Elantra. Very happy with it! High safety ratings, did a lot of research before buying (tried a Kia K4 and Sentra too).
Christian Boltanski exhibit at Chicago Museum of Modern Art in 1985. Hard to describe, but the only lights in gallery were the pin lights above holocaust victims faces and various artifacts. Haunting, very impactful.
"NFL wife"??? How about world reknown olympic gymnast??? Wtf is this sexist/racist crap? (I didn't even know she was married).
Friday night. Charcuterie plate for dinner and my favorite cheesy movie!
Race day!! Wish I was there, nothing like seeing racing in person--yes driving in ovals is much more thrilling than people think. If you ever have opportunity to go, DO IT! Largest single day spring event in the world, 350,000 fans in those stands today!
Walmart selling these plates, which I think is hilarious, as it reads as a very apt tombstone. I definitely feel that the America that was imagined by the founding fathers---especially a secular and balanced government guided by the Constitution---is indeed dead. (also, flag upside-down lol)
