Garber started our 3 days in Ithaca with a lot of interest in the water, but no real experience swimming. By the end, he was ploughing through the water like an otter. That’s my boy!
Garber is trying hard to figure out the dock at my parents’ place. It’s confusing that you can walk off the dock into the water, but you can’t walk out of the water onto the dock. 🤔
Hooray! Getting Better* has received the Richard Titmuss Book Prize from @socialpolicyuk.bsky.social. We are so pleased! *available open access at Policy Press: policy.bristoluniversitypress.co.uk/getting-better @profbambra.bsky.social @profkatsmith.bsky.social @premnsikka.bsky.social
They may have moved the entry hatch, but the Mother Ship still inevitably pulls you back in.
Garber wondering what’s going to happen today. More specifically, whether breakfast or tummy rub comes first.
When you’ve spent all afternoon being handsome, sometimes you just need to hide your head under a chair while you sploot.
Concerned big brother is looking out for him. But honestly, have you ever seen anything so pathetic?
It’s all fun and games until someone ends up in a cone. Poor Garber. Today was neuter day.
First day that really feels like summer here in Philly. Time for a Cynar and soda with crushed ice. Ahhhhhhh. Also, the porch is one of our apartment’s best features, but it’s rarely the right temperature and not too buggy. Today it’s perfect now that the sun is on the other side of the bldg.
Happy Mother’s Day to all carers who have survived the state-sanctioned abuse that is trying to raise children in the US. In my decades as a comparative social policy researcher, I’m never more depressed than when I am thinking about family policy. Now, get out there and rock those mom jeans.
My awesome husband, who is not the mother of my kids, got me the most beautiful Mother’s Day flowers. As he has every year since we met. It’s almost enough to make me ok with Mother’s Day.
Mo finally stopped yelling at me to DO SOMETHING once I gave him his very own stick. Seems like a problem he probably could have resolved on his own.
Signs of recovery! Mo initiated this play session, and complained when Garber stopped. The black and white whippersnapper looking on is my parents’ dog Cassie. Video credit goes to my mom.
For those following Mo’s progress, I’m happy to say he’s doing better today. Walking better, more energy, and finally eating a little. PHEW! We have been so very worried about our Very Good Boi.
