But if I zoom out enough to get an image of the whole page, the resolution is too low (the letters too pixellated) for me to read the page on my device — see an attached example.

But the problem for me in trying to read the scans as they exist is that when zooming in enough for the letters to be legible, I can only get a fragment of the page (whatever's visible on-screen) in an image download. See attached example.
