Why, yes... that one scene was absolutely necessary for the plot! #GitS2026 #MotokoKusanagi #SummerVacation
finally. My website now can do darkmode. As a heavy darkmode user myself. This has been a big gripe with my latest iteration of my website. jmalmsten.com
Something something something... That foreground tree... I chalk that up as my first ever happy little accident. I mean. Just going off memory of various episodes for techniques. Looking at a finished #BobRoss as the sole guide. I will call it a decent first try! #ArtSky #JoyOfPainting
to be fair... lots of shots in the film wasn't shot in scope, they were shot on 65mm and VistaVision. But yes. I am pretty certain that that particlar frame is a regular 2x anamorphic scope image.
I'll just say, this is Shirow's Major, not Oshii or Kamiyama's. Ok. It probably is MokoChan's as well. But still. We've seen the stoic silent contemplative major for so long that going back to the source feels so refreshing. Even as a big fan of the earlier characterizations. Except Arise.
Normally I am the guy who says an adaptation needs to not hold anything from its source as holy. But, seeing the Major return to the manga's Stylish, Violent, Goofy, Irreverent, Bitchy (and quite a bit Horny) tone On top of masterful animation. And sound. At least for S1E1. It has my attention!
"people over there vote for a guy with a goddamn swastika tattooed on his chest?"
Just finished watching Severance s2. Just found out that there will be a s3. I'm a bit taken aback at that reveal. As the final ep of s2 was so delightfully frustratingly ambiguous in the ways of Patrick McGoohans The Prisoner.
Currently running a 2hr+ job through the VOP prototype and thought I'd look at how much the Pi could be struggling as I have maxed the VOP out with using all three layers. The Pi 4B here has 4GB of RAM. During the job it's using at most 1/3 of the CPU and well under a gig of RAM. Acceptable, yes?
Heard Set McFarlane optioned Dungeon Crawler Carl for a TV show, so I might as well try out the audiobooks. 1 hr in: Dammit, it's an ISEKAI! 8 hr 30 min in: ... and I'm enjoying it?!
Yesterday I realized that Nolan's The Odyssey is about a friends and family not trying to get Matt Damon home. And a quick google revealed that I'm way late on this joke.
spinning logo is spinning. Straight from the VOP. No other tools. Probably not the most efficient way to get extruded art. But a fun way for me at least. Oh, and it now also shows waveforms to help with exposure judgement. A video showing how to use the VOP is perpetually coming.
To be fair. Fu**ing implies consent... let's call it what intercourse without consent usually is called...
"So what kind of music do you listen to?" I keep wanting to bring up all the deep lyrics and intricate musical compositions of obscure 70s prog rock and italian funky mastery... But my music playlists:
well. The tweakings continue. But the wood grain makeover is basically done so it's merged with the main branch for general use. Maybe I should take some time to actually start documenting things? #VOP #OpticalPrinter #WoodGrain
