Vinyl collector - especially 7” singles. International Triratna Buddhist. Seem to have developed a thing for vintage paperbacks. I used to date the Rokeby Venus.
Delighted to learn Mark Fry will be performing the ‘Dreaming with Alice’ album live in October. I’ve been lucky enough to see him twice, and will do my best to get to London for it. Anyway, here’s a bunch of hippy trippy stuff I’m taking back with me today. I’ve posted it all before, but who cares?
To celebrate International Cat Day the neighbours’ new kitten has come to see me
Hey #WeekendSingles folk, I’m actually with my records today and I’ve picked out some 12”s - many of which I’ve posted over the years, but a few I think not (have we had a KISS 12” before?) The Butthole Surfers is revenge against folk who tag me in whenever someone posts Rattlesnakes.
Although last time I did that, I tried to get on the wrong plane, and ended up having to sleep in an airport overnight.* So, let’s hope that’s not an augury. * that looks much worse written down than I’d like, and implies a much greater degree of drunkenness than was the case. Honest, Officer.
Treating myself to a pint while an estate agent finally (after 6 months on the market) shows a prospective purchaser my house. 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼
“Record experience” offered by a hotel in France. Is this your new business @brighterdayvinyl.bsky.social ? #WeekendSingles
Early start for me (plus I’m an hour ahead) as I’m heading back to Blighty. Here’s some I’ve posted before, although not in this precise combination. #WeekendSingles
Guten morgen from a schloss 60km north of Berlin. I took these pics before setting off on my travels nearly two weeks ago, but I was in a field last weekend. Another interesting and unusual bunch from the Joel boxes, I hope you’ll agree. #WeekendSingles #SinglesAmWochenende
Here’s my sign off from #WeekendSingles for this week - simply because I came across it for the first time today, it’s quite pretty, and it has an unusually stiff card sleeve. I’m travelling again for the next month or so, but sadly not in a way that will allow for crate digging.
What is it with you #WeekendSingles people and your insatiable urge for ever more pictures of records? Oh already, here’s some Beatles and their penumbra, mostly from the States. Giorgio and Donald, some continental sleeves, and who knew 2-4-6-8 Motorway had been rereleased a decade later?
Some, mostly less-often-seen, post-fab #WeekendSingles from John, Paul, George & Ringo.
More rummaging in the Joel Boxes delivers this #WeekendSingles 16. Yes, somebody thought it would be a good idea to laminate that George Harrison sleeve, St George’s Hall used to be filthy, and that Laurie promo is gorgeous. And what has a blank clock face got to do with the body in question?
And in Melbourne I was on the Sydney Road, and there was quite a diverse range within walking distance, inc specific metal & garage shops. I was pretty restrained until I found Muscle Shoals records, where is couldn’t resist a splurge. Here they are with a few op shop finds plus my whole haul
In Sydney I was mostly around Erco (Erskinville), which is very well served for vinyl shops. I couldn’t carry LPs, or would have bought a lot, and Japanese releases abounded at very reasonable prices. Was chuffed to find a cheap copy of The Real Thing, surprised to find Santa Dog & a Nick Cave mural
