Got far enough into the massive Velvets book that they've actually started recording the debut. So treating myself to a listen.
I had fun with this as a loving celebration of the french new wave and the production of BREATHLESS. Enjoyed the cinematic paraphrasing and the pretend cue marks at the end of each 'reel'. But it's not essential!

Last night's film, CAIRO STATION. I've wanted to watch this for a very long time. Melodramatic neorealism in 50s Egypt. A fascinating snapshot of the time, with a focus on the rights of workers and women.
