Blood and Thunder. After reading it a friend and I tracked down most of the sites described in the story in AZ & NM. We lived in Santa Fe at the time. Amazing book.
Lovely day for a walk along the river here in Bend, Oregon. This is just below Dillon Falls.
Love those colors and views. Here’s some fall foliage from the Sierras.
Love it when the light is so soft it embraces the landscape in a caress.
Lovely area. Here’s my favorite shot of the falls. Original slide from Pentax 6x7.
Love the whole eastern side. This is down near Lone Pine on a year where the snow melt brought the lake back to life.
From the Everglades… after heavy storms Mrazek pond sometimes fills with tiny shrimp which brings in thousands of birds. An amazing spectacle if you ever get the chance to see it.
If you turn the other direction on the bridge in your last photo and look to your left you’ll see my old place. My wife ran fashion shows and would display interesting pieces on her mannequins for the folks on the bridge.
Eastern Sierras, near Lone Pine. Mountain reflections in the melting snow pack that refilled long dry Owens lake.
Mt Bachelor, near Bend Oregon. Over the past several yrs I’ve come to regard Bend as a primary summer residence. Great biking town, smart & active population, creative food & drink scene and tons of outdoor activities.
Near Fairplay, Co. I spent over a month camped in this spot. The valley filled with elk every evening.
Eastern Sierras near Lone Pine. With the heavy rains the last couple yrs the Owens Valley has begun to return to its history as a lake.
Time for another photo post. This is in the eastern California Sierras, just above the basecamp town of Bishop.
