I, on the other hand, got this punk rock Herb Alpert black and white shirt and a 60th anniversary repress of the classic Whipped Cream LPwith the graphic print on the vinyl.
In the merch line behind me a lady was debating the shirts with one being the Whipped Cream & Other Delights girl. She said “well I have to get that one, I had that when I was 12, if anyone wondered if I was gay.” to which I responded “well of course if that was part of your awakening!You’ve gotta!”
He was especially tickled at how big Ladyfingers was on TikTok with over 4 Billion “(with a B)” streams
The show opened with Paul “Rainbow Connection” Williams and I just about died. That they didn’t bring him back out for an encore to sing was heartbreaking but it was a touching tribute to how Herb Alpert and A&M Records really plucked him from obscurity.
Saw Herb Alpert & The Tijuana Brass at the Hollywood Bowl, it was an absolute delight and just wild that he’s 91 and still busting out Spanish Flea like it’s nothing
