Took Gus on a nice hike. He and Deli got very muddy, and that made them both very happy.
Playing with ‘a confederacy of dunces’ somewhere in brooklyn. GWAR connection? Ivan Purvis produced the release i was on. Really nice guy. He even got Phoebe Legere to guest on it.
In other news, took Gus to the vet bc he’d lost weight. Ran tests. And he’s FINE. I just need to feed him a little more. Also, he is still a big goober.
Things kids today won’t understand. Tonight is our special, “Cleaning up the basement” edition. Our millennial child was truly stumped. Even with hints. And yes, if you know what this is, your back hurts.
If im ever asked i’ll deny these ugly welds are mine, but they’re strong and the little car is fixed. Swapping out the gfci outlet for a standard one did the trick.
In 1974 this car was quoted as getting 47mpg at a steady 50mph by the mfr. It’s basic physics: make cars small & light.
A solid drive this w/e put me in 3rd in class and 8th overall (out of 60+) in a 38yo car - which is bonkers, and im going to savor every minute of it. (Mrs P says I am unbearable but i can’t hear her over all the awesome…😜)
Fun with color-blindness. No, not the goofy kind. I literally can’t see red or green. No sensors. My brain fills in whatever color, like it feels bad about it. So when I’m on top of a ladder in 100F+ heat trying to find a possible short in the air handler wiring and not fall over, it kinda sucks.
Young milk snake was very aggressive. I was just trying to keep it out of the basement! I gently persisted as it struck and struck again, but eventually it moved on. Such a beautiful creature. Here it’s preparing to strike. Or giving me side eye…
With the white car back on its tires, i had time to get the annual tuneup on the audi. Just oil & filters. Also replaced the PCV bc I’ve been getting CELs and its a common wear item around 100K mi. Cams look good, & my gas mileage got instantly better so thats cool. :)
Lost & found: We found your sneakers on E 65th street. Please come & retrieve them.
Spent part of the day under the car, which is my right one day a year, (at least). Replaced the busted control arm. Took the dogs for a long walk, shampooed the carpet in my office/studio bc it was time. Then had a yummy dinner out with the fam. The waiter liked us and snuck me some fresh wasabi :)
