Hard to get the little bugger, but not horrible given my old-guy reaction time. ROI of pleasure on a hummingbird feeder, very hard to beat.
I’ve had dogs who snacked on carrots but never one who goes ham on a whole head of cabbage. Also weirdly prefers to lay on gravel.
We're not just terrified of foreigners, we're suspicious of *each other.* A nation of islands surrounded by sharks.
It’s amazing to watch the professional journalism class dance around this:
Although TV has its own different pains. There’s a full 10 episode season of scripts for this one on the hard drive.
NA beer Gruvi Mocha Moment (new to me) is a solid coffee stout, a little chocolate in the BG. Suffers from what I find to be a ubiquitous problem with NA dark beers, it’s a little thin. The only dark I’ve had so far that felt like a proper dark for mouth feel is the Fremont Dark.
Don’t just let it be terrible, LEAN INTO it being terrible, because no one’s going to see it. I only bring this up because someone mentioned just this week that this trick is useful, but I *still* 30 years in, when stumped, write this on the top of the page.
Why yes, we could go to that fancy brunch place on LaBrea, but let me pitch you an alt …
I appreciate @samreich.bsky.social wants to expand the @dropout.tv franchise, but this seems ill-advised.
The physics degree was 35 years ago, but I do like to keep my hand in. Very excited to jump into the new book by @chanda.blacksky.app
I don’t mean to backseat GM but that guy looks like he’s going to need more than d6 HP of healing.
Cleaning out my #ttrpg briefcase and look, you don’t HAVE to use downtime long term projects in your game, but you’re skipping some fun gameplay.
It’s the first week of the quarter, so what do we do? We stop hoarding our precious fluids and share them with the world! Set the reminder on your phone.
30 years, in, I've never beaten this trick. Just write that sentence at the top and puke it out. And I mean *go* for it. AGGRESSIVELY bad.
Thanks to our insanely talented friends at www.matsumotoart.com for working with their printer to get me a poster size of their amazing JCA fan art. It was the one project I never got a poster for, and it means a lot. And yes, that is a harpoon on the wall behind me.
I will often write this at the top of the page, and then GO BACK and fix it. Finished is "finished".
Today is Q2 day for the journal, where I transfer everything undone from Q1 to the projects page, reassess, but most importantly reread the last 13 weeks of entries for context and reflection, and, well …
The amount of folk civics in the US is boggling. All these governing norms treated as eternal gifts from the Founding Fathers many of them were *recent* accidents. Like ICE suddenly being sacrosanct, like its set up in the Constitution (it is not, but the long suffering USPS *is*)
Ah. The squirrel who sometimes zips out to steal a peanut when I toss some to the crowbros on my walk has figured out where I live. And where my backyard is.
I suddenly realized that one of the fundamental tenets of my humanism may have been subconsciously instilled in me because I spent 11 years in Canada.
Our fictional century-old criminal conspiracy had a more stringent moral operating framework than our real world today.
A few days old, but a decent shot of one of the regular crowbros on my walk, who waits on that sign every morning. Zoom in for some cool details.
Your quarterly reminder to donate platelets if possible ( photo pre-tube for the blood-triggered). 2 hours where you don’t have to take annoying phone calls or meetings and no one can get mad at you!
Your quarterly reminder to, if you can, please donate blood, platelets, or both. Without your blood being poured through the cracked floor of the Temple of Az-nato’th, we cannot keep the Old Gods beneath the earth sated!
