Putting on a lucky shirt and channeling The Hold Steady!! All flights into Chicago have been canceled for tomorrow and yet I have two tickets for a show! Gotta STAY POSITIVE!! :)
Picked up my dog from her University (that’s what they call it) on Friday and they handed me the art she created. Never felt more first world white.
Okay, who is going to this with me? I need someone brave enough to help me contain my excitement.
First time seeing/hearing Lucy Dacus. The band’s instruments were delayed at the Canadian border by the US patrol, so they had to completely rearrange their Madison show. It was intimate and intense. I’m gonna need three business days to recover.
Russ from Madison’s Hi Fi Haus is helping me finally have a system that will make me never want to leave the house again.
Pro tip. Hit the community room after July 4th and help yourself to all the forgotten beverages in the refrigerator. (These Good Boys by John Daly were a pleasant surprise next to the case of PBR.)
Mike Gordon was nominated as the biggest dope from the state of Vermont on the Best Show this week. I heard he rides a Segway. Say less. And I’m still looking forward to my first show in years this week.
Couldn’t resist picking this up out of a free little library to read to yet to materialize grandkids (or grand pets)!!
Happy Birthday today to Bobby Bare, Jr., author of one of my favorite love songs, “Fuck First, Fight Later.”
Packing for my move. Came across this folded napkin my friend John quietly passed to me in the middle of a serious concert, causing cheeky chaos. He unexpectedly died in February. Napkin and memory now priceless.
When you host a monthly record club and you have to get there early and hold the table and drink a pitcher of beer.
Apparently there’s an ice cream place in Chicago where puppets hand you your ice cream through a hole in the wall. It’s called the Sugar Hole. Please, say less. And let’s.
Me core. Trying to figure out if there’s a dating app specific for these countries.
OK, I thought these shirts were fucking cool to begin with AND to learn that Alana Haim used her own public library resources to make them is the absolute best.
