Wishing a Happy #Lammas to all my Pagan friends and fellow growers. "Crom is our god, and he lives in the ground." #CromDubh #Lughnasadh
A special place. Many happy Saturday afternoons hanging around there with @dugster.bsky.social and walking back up Portabello Road, day-dreaming of Michael Moorcock and Hawkwind as we passed the Mountain Grill restaurant.
Sorry, not being clear. I meant, in that period. My Grandfather is second to end on this row, and would never have been able to afford a top hat and tails. I'm guessing that the canes were mostly hired too.
I personally know of no think tanks that would engage in such unethical behaviour
TBF there are very few people who would be prepared to fight for their country in western Europe (see 2015 stats below). I expect a lot of the far-right lads would be happier living in a Russian or American satellite state, so giving them guns probably wouldn't be a good idea anyway.
Perhaps anti-intuitively, older people are generally happier. Over-65s are generally better on all scores than younger people. Retirement seems to be a turning point for many. If there were data for turbo-capitalism, I would expect a correlation. Source data here www.ons.gov.uk/peoplepopula...
Finally, I toast some seeds and add them on top, together with any other seasonings (I'm a sucker for the Maggi Hot Liquid Seasoning and a little sesame oil). The photo shows the seeds on top, but it tastes much better when you've mixed them in! Obviously peanuts are more authentic. 6/6 🧵Ends
For this recipe I've also added bean sprouts. I chop the mint with a green chili, crush some garlic and add it to the bean sprouts and courgette with sugar, salt and a couple of glugs of white wine vinegar. Then it goes in the fridge (or not if I'm too hungry). For a main course I add noodles. 5/6
I grate the courgette and then squeeze out the water (with clean hands, obviously). The ones I've grown are quite dry at the moment because of the heat 🥵🔥4/6
I grow a lot of mint on my plot too! It needs no encouragement, but is quite invasive if not checked. 3/6
🌱🍽️In the UK, it's courgette (zucchini) season. You can't plant them out much befor May because of frost, and if you leave it much later powdery mildew will get them. This year it's been hot early, so there's plenty! If you have a recipe please tag me in. 🧵1 of 6
I think that every time one of these MAGA/CPAC types does a Nazi salute, they should have to put their finger under their nose and do enormous goose steps when they get off the stage. If you're going to look like a pr*ck, at least get the details right.
Just read the BBC news story about Ozzy and the the #BlackSabbath reunion gig in Aston this summer ichef.bbci.co.uk/ace/standard... Photo of "Black Sabbath's original line-up performing together in 1984" clearly shows Ian Gillan, who took over from Ronnie James Dio. Oh Dear.🤘 #Metal #DadRock
There's another perspective. I'm not sure that the corporates of fascist Italy did so well in the end. The so-called 'economic miracle' of post-war growth was arguably a product of industry being literally leveled during the war, followed by reinvestment & redevelopment through the Marshall Plan.
