The shorter, angular, white concrete pillars at the foot of the old facade still visible in these photos I took yesterday. Harder to remove and preserve of course.....
Hard to be 100% sure, but these photos I took today definitely suggest a portion of the famous 1957-built blue facade is still in place on the same plinth on the back of the West Stand This is literally unearthing buried treasure, and part of this HAS to be preserved as a historic artefact #lufc

Big respect Patrick Bamford. A scorer of great goals and for a short time big teams couldn't handle him. His body let him down right at his peak (17 PL goals, 27, England cap). Always felt this must have absolutely crushed him, but through it all a stand-up guy until the end. Go well #lufc
Great privilege to be asked to attend the launch of the Wilko92 campaign tonight, and the ceremonial handing over of the great Paul Trevillion's artwork of Howard Wilkinson. In the coming years this will be transformed into a long overdue statue at Elland Road marking Wilko's amazing achievements
I was told they were skipped at the time, but no one seemed certain. When I did the book (over a decade ago now) I found you can still see a corner of the white-painted plinth it was all mounted on. Would be lovely if it was all just covered over and could be revealed when we do the refurb
