More people should be talking more often about Bill Duke's DEEP COVER (1992). Stylish as hell. Fishburne and Goldblum both doing career-high level work. Though on rewatch the secret weapon performance here is Roger Guenveur Smith as Eddie. Dude is cranked to 11.

Finally watched the infamous bomb HEAVEN'S GATE. Definitely fatty but goddamn it is also pretty amazing. I miss the era where mega expensive movies actually LOOKED mega expensive. If you're gonna crater a studio with your excess it better end up on screen!
Rewatched the dumb-fun early 90s biker movie STONE COLD, starring former NFL star Brian Bosworth. 1) the German poster for the movie is sick as hell. 2) Bosworth was somehow only 25 in the movie, which is fucking nuts.
I had fun with Renny Harlin's weird and mean new shark movie DEEP WATER. But if you had told me it would have higher critic and audience scores on RT than a new David Lowery I'd have said no way. Kippis, Renny!

Saw someone post this on FB. I guess this is a clear dividing line between a normal and a film nerd. Is the idea of watching a movie that YOU pick on repeat so torturous that it enters 'would you rather' territory? I know several people who would PAY to do this just to say they did it.
I loved the "Masked Mallard" ep of DUCKTALES as a kid. I wanted more. I'm sure I wasn't alone. Always assumed Disney realized there was maybe a whole series to be done there, leading to creation of DARKWING.
Really enjoying Chancellor Ake. But if we are being technical here she is not a Captain.
