Andy Burnham has pledged his government will be "relentless" in curbing the number of people arriving in the UK on small boats.

The prime minister said progress had been made and the government was "changing the whole approach", with enforcement officers tackling people-smuggling gangs doubled on both sides of the Channel.

"People want to see this issue addressed," he said in Dover, adding: "We also need to build a system that offers safe routes for people as well, because that also takes away the selling point of the gangs."

The Conservatives said that Labour had not delivered on its promises on migration, while Reform UK said if in government it would deploy the navy to ward off crossings.

For those curious about that power meter that clips onto the chain that was a Kickstarter but is now surprisingly real: Apparently the clips have a tendency to snap and send it jamming into the front derailleur.

Mine was delivered yesterday. Today I followed the instruction steps and got everything mounted and connected. Spinning the pedals both ways worked fine, and the PM was registering power while I held the bike in the air and pedalled with my hand. As soon as I tried actually getting on the bike and putting it under any kind of load, the clip that the connecting cylinder snaps into broke into two pieces. Tried it with both the supplied clips, and they both broke right away. I know they sent out a notice that something like this might happen, so I'm wondering if this is the case they were describing. Has anyone else experienced this?

Mine broke of nearly immediately and jammed into my front derailleur. I remounted it again with a second mounting kit on my bike stand and the meter frequently binded on the chain. It's not usable for me. It's unsafe.

Hi, mine has not arrived yet. They’ve recalled the plastic part that broke for the user above and are redesigning the piece. It has delayed shipping by about a month according to their latest email, number 16. I downloaded the BikeOn Power app for my iPhone but haven’t received an email to confirm my account. Has anyone got the iOS confirmation email?
