For Black August, the local political education book club voted on reading Frantz Fanon's The Wretched of the Earth.
Great article from The Cut people admitting their struggling is a taboo on social media. We are all conditioned in the US to internalize our livelihood are our fault. Never mind the fact our lives are the result of oppressive systems across race, class, etc that moves like a well oiled machine
Great insight from @shineyezehuhh.bsky.social on the journalistic struggles with conducting anime interviews.
Read Ken's report & then I read the State Department's 100 page pdf report on Cuba. I gotta say this is an incredible piece of mask off US imperialist propaganda. But anyway, a good historical analysis on this subject is Dr CBS' book Black Scare / Red Scare.
This Stanford report isn't shocking in the least. Would explain why multiple professional done resumes might as well be party confetti in this job market.
Just seen the young brother I be chopping up sports with working the gym service desk. After I said what's up, my spider sense told me to ask him if he bet on that UFC fight & he got comically quiet. "This why they be targeting us man 😭"
If I write anything in the near future that's far better than what I wrote in the past, it's because of political education book clubs in Miami.
Jaylen Brown a 76er because of business moves. The Lakers got pretty hwhite. And Paul George on the Celtics. Sure NBA
*In the future around a campfire talking to my future kids & their little friends.* Me: We were able to go to a store and buy games in a box. The game on a disc and not a code. We could then insert discs into consoles to play them. All the children: Woah.
Bought this book over the weekend when I saw it randomly. They say study makes for better principled practice
I was made aware that this is in fact very real so: (Warning video is loud)
In honor of Pride Month my local book club & I are reading James Baldwin's Go Tell It on the Mountain.
Everyone please read this article on Black music appreciation & Black music culture vultures by @shineyezehuhh.bsky.social & please say thank you. Very well written piece.
I like coming across reports (that point out the obvious) I might use soon in future work maybe.
Always interesting to come across reports that back up why you, your peers & peoppe generally have enough job rejection emails to fill a book. Possible racism with the use of job application screening AI tools? A shocking revelation.
The government trying to make "anti-technology extremist" is laughable. A criticism on how the tech / capitalism is ruining a community is being flagged as such? Label could apply to the old lady down the street, or kids that want a nicer neighbor aka everyone that isn't an AI snake oil salesman
