Really the only point of contention re: history I have with Nolan's Odyssey (actual history, not his interpretation of the work. That I think has very valid critique) is the costume design inspiration. I mean, *come on*.

Bronze Age Achaean amor composed of overlapping plates of bronze with red lacing, a red leather shield. The helm is tall with tufts of black horse hair at the top and features several upturned boar tusks.

Bronze Age Achaean fashion, featuring brightly dyed reds, golds, and rich blues woven in intricate geometric patterns. The man wears a short tunic and cloak while the woman wears longer layered tunics and skirts. Both wear beaded jewelry and feature braided hair.

Recreated Bronze Age Achaean makeup with heavily kohl lined eyes and small red sun motifs on cheeks, brow, and chin. The hair is wrapped with woven patterned ribbons and strings of precious beads.

My sanity craft of the moment is cross stitch. Just finished this lovely little Valentines Day terrarium from Tiny Modernist.

Every time I read something like this, I'm ready to start going Frank Herbert on it all.

I am not a professional artist. But it's always been a relaxing hobby to draw and make art even when it's not professional quality, you know? I loved drawing and coloring as a kid, and I never gave that up. So today, I'm drawing an imperfect strawberry patch with a bunch of imperfect wee fairies.

Made a bee watering bowl with a small mixing bowl/sauce bowl I rarely use but love and a bunch of extra dice. Rescued a honey bee from inside my condo today with a spoon and a dollop of honey, which reminded me to do this.

I needle felted a lil mushroom sprite. He's just a lil guy. A lil fun guy.

I put white and yellow flowers in this vase to make it look like a cracked egg while helping with Easter flowers today and it's super cute so god owes me one. I think that's how this religion thing works idk.

Needle felting is a great craft for people with anxiety because you can channel all that into creative stabbing. I have made a wee chicken. Her name is Eggatha. Behold.
