Each track on PARTICULAR SYSTEMS is made with a different #vcvrack patch recorded in stereo in one take. Very sparse or extremely dense percussive elements click, clatter, snap & pop while warped melodic fragments bubble up thru flicker & glitch. RIYL Mille Plateaux & Raster-Noton #modularsynthesis
First heard Cobalt Blue when I borrowed it from the Music Library on George IV Bridge at some point mid-90s. Do have it on CD, but realised I also have it on MD in my office, paired with Dead Can Dance's Into The Labyrinth.
Archaeoligical place was a bit rough around the edges, but interesting. Lots of temples and sanctuaries to different deities (here Dionysus and Isis) and a mashup of Greek and then Roman. View of Olympus looking up valley with some patches of snow, then a view from a nearish (20km) beach at sunset!
That Zeus stencil! I'm just below Mt Olympus rn. The flyer for the archeological site I visited earlier!
Love this album. My copy is in my stash of things I keep ready to hand!
808 State #weekendsingles. Cübik in particular is one of those tracks without which I wouldn't be doing what I do now, although what I do now doesn't sound much like it ; )
More @elleesaich.bsky.social playing pulsar synthesis and live vocal sample mangling #computermusic

This is snooker legend Steve Davis cueing up his next break! (See what I did there)
What it (more or less) looked and sounded like in the actual performances (2/2)
This was a big visual influence for one section of the visuals I created for a collaborative project called Requiem for Edward Snowden about 10 years ago. I recreated some of the kinds of imagery using stock footage which I then used as a layered and stuttering audio-reactive layer in realtime (1/2)
My Pulsar Retcon release is 5 years old today. Here I'm playing opening track Lotus Prancer after learning to repeat what I'd previously improvised. pixelmechanics.bandcamp.com/album/pulsar...
John Richards' setup for fun with speakers, batteries and assorted junk during a workshop in feb, including his take on the Victorian Synth
Totally excellent Totaleee improv laptop trio cutting it up last night at Sketchy Beats in Leith. Would love to do a laptop trio duo with them at some point.
Scenegrabs from songscape project, all (loosely) based on real locations in the Highlands.
Similar view, minus tippex, from a songscape game engine project I'm developing
One of my favourite things about working at @edincollegeofart.bsky.social is the things you find hanging in unexpected places.
Happy 303 day. This really is what happened at 303 Hz on the metal plate!
I really need a new phone to grab some better pictures. As noted, full acoustic set. I thought (hoped?) she might break out a slightly gritty Tele at some point, but it was really gripping. The held note in Get Back in The Queen's Hall was magical. Like Bob Dylan in reverse, Glaspy goes acoustic.
My new DIY MORE ROAR! entropic and degenerative synth built as part of a Dirty Electronics workshop at @weekofsound.bsky.social at @edincollegeofart.bsky.social. Designed by Dirty Electronics and Agnes Cameron, more info at moreroar.org/about.html
"And, um..." rigging & sound checking a 12 channel setup of #900Voices spatial sound art installation for @weekofsound.bsky.social at @edincollegeofart.bsky.social Sculpture Court ahead of the opening tomorrow. 900V explores conversations on belonging & connection across diverse groups in Edinburgh.
