the bus system here is SLOW as hell and biking downtown (or anywhere for that matter) is impossible unless you either live uptown where there are protected bike lanes or you live near this singular bike corridor and the destination is also alongside this corridor.
I know the MBTA has its issues but good lord, compared its problems are nothing compared to charlotte's transit system we only have two lines, one being an electric streetcar and the other being a light rail.
Finally, at the next intersection of cedar/columbus I got off the SW corridor to take the crosswalk up to the sidewalk leading up this hill. I waited my turn once again and when I started crossing, a car totally ignored my right of way and cut me off forcing me to brake and yell at him angrily.
At the next intersection at Roxbury crossing (the block over from where Louisa was killed) I waited for my turn to cross and when it was granted, I started biking when a car came out of nowhere in the intersection from the left side of where this picture was taken forcing me to brake (it was red)
yesterday on my bike ride home in Roxbury I almost got hit by a car three times, despite "following the rules of the road". I slowed down at a crosswalk on Prentiss St with flashing lights which I had right of way at, while a car just straight up sped through the crosswalk.
this is my dad, he's moving to a place in Dallas, how am I even supposed to respond to this 😭
looking over notes in one of my notebooks and I came across some notes I took at @pastortrey05.com’s talk at the PEC conference this year 🥹
just a taste of the absolute bs this op-ed is. queer liberation is for *all* queer people, not just those who neatly fit into "more traditional" categories. not only will playing this respectability politics game backfire in the long-run, it's just a generally shitty thing
Matthew Vines wrote an op-ed for the NYT today and.... I have thoughts (might I add, the same day the Supreme Court further codified discrimination against trans people)
(this was my church growing up in Charlotte NC, yes I am in therapy for religious trauma)
genuinely, what the fuck is going on in evangelical churches these days 😭
my roommate took this awesome video of geese last night and my reaction to cameron's improvisation
