I almost missed #showmeyourknits shawls! I finished these just 2 weeks ago. Michelle Miller’s Honey Pot shawl in Cascade’s Cotton Sox (sangria) is headed to my mom for her birthday. Lori Steinberg’s Down the Garden Path is for me because I love the yarn - Noro’s Ohajiki. 🧶
Happy 2nd birthday #showmeyourknits ! Congratulations and thank you for such a creative, welcoming, fun, and supportive community. Looking forward to the joys and inspirations of year 3. 🧶 Here are just a few of my twice-knit projects that I especially enjoyed making. Details in alt text.
These are just a few things that bring me joy and fond memories as I knit. 🧶 #showmeyourknits
On my needles now - Down the Garden Path shawl by Lori Steinberg. I’ve wanted to try Noro yarns for some time, so I finally splurged on a ball of Ohajiki -cotton/silk/wool blend-in colorway #12 Mobara. I love it! 🧶 #showmeyourknits
The shawl I began in May was a complete bust. The yarn, pattern, and needles just couldn’t get together for gauge to ensure enough yarn for a nice finished project, despite numerous attempts. I switched to the Honey Pot shawl by Michelle Millar. Now it’s ready for blocking. I’m so much happier!
I recently finished a yellow baby blanket for my great-niece arriving in July. Since she’ll be in the Pacific Northwest, I wanted her to be wrapped in sunshine! 🧶 #showmeyourknits
On my needles now is my first triangle shawl - Summer’s Shadow Shawl by Angela McGarrah. I’m using a raspberry cotton sock yarn from my stash. I’m halfway through the garter stitch section and can’t wait to get to the lace border! 🧶 #showmeyourknits
I finished my socks for the #LightItUpMAL! Not only do I have another comfy pair of socks to wear, I get to start a new project! It’s going to be my first attempt at a triangle shawl. 🧶
I must jump on the bandwagon of LOVING that green! It is too gorgeous and I’m a lover of all greens! 🤩
I have stockinette for winter and summer, though summer will get lots more wear. 🧶 #showmeyourknits
#showmeyourknits wants to see me wearing what I’ve made. I’ve just finished the first sock in the purple/pink patterned yarn. I’ve also cast on the second. Both are bringing joy today! 🧶 #memakemay #LightItUpMAL
Cowls at the wire! My first one, my travel one, and one for my mom. 🧶 #showmeyourknits
For my current socks, I’m experimenting with small circs. I’m trying several combinations of 2” and 3” tips. I love how much faster they work up, but the needles still feel weird in my hands. Holding off on any final judgements until I’m finished with both socks. 🧶 #showmeyourknits
Colorwork-I LOVE IT! Hats, mitts, socks. Here are a few older FOs. I really need to get back to it soon! #showmeyourknits 🧶
It’s green for #showmeyourknits and I’ve been working with greens for the past few weeks. I finished my green Murmuration socks, and I bought more green to have fun with in the coming weeks …or months. 😂
Murmuration socks (Summer Lee) are still on my needles but closer to being done. This lovely fingering skein is inspiring me to consider making a shawl. We will see what it turns out to be! 🧶 #showmeyourknits
It’s finished in time for the last bit of cold(hopefully) and St. Patrick’s Day! The Sea Surf scarf by Charles D. Gandy knit in the Irish Luck colorway by Woolgatherings and hand spun by Handspun Daydreams. A beautiful merino and cashmere yarn gifted to me by my granddaughters I will cherish. 🧶
Both of my WIPs are lacey! 1) Sea Surf Scarf by Charles Gandy in a luscious handspun green gradient merino/cashmere by Woolgatherings (a bday gift from my granddaughters) 2) Murmuration socks by Summer Lee in hand dyed sagey merino from The Local Craftery. 🧶 #showmeyourknits
Here are some animals just in time: Bib for my granddaughter with a cutie cow; Roadside Beanie from Shetland Wool Week many years ago; and what was supposed to be a medium-sized crocheted pig that seemed to grow on its own for my granddaughter. 🧶 #showmeyourknits
Quote this post with a knit that starts with the next letter of the alphabet for #showmeyourknits Q: Quaking Aspen Wrap - Purl SoHo
I finished my first Musselburgh hat last night. It for hubby and just in time for the coldest temps we’ve seen in N Fl for a long time! 🧶 Musselburgh by @ysoldaknits.bsky.social Yarn is Imagine! Fiber Arts - Indigo Twighlight and Ciderhouse Red.
Two weeks ago it was my WIP. Now it’s an FO and my garter stitch for this week’s #showmeyourknits ! It’s so warm and just in time for this week’s cold snap. 🧶
Look what was waiting for me when I got home!! I’m thrilled it’s finally here!! 🧶
My WIP for #showmeyourknits is my Quaking Aspen Wrap. I only have 4 more shades of green to add and then the fringe! I’m so excited! 🧶
Some firsts for #showmeyourknits: 1) my first fingerless mitts, which were also my first colorwork-opening a wonderful new world for my knitting; 2) my first cowl, which was supposed to be a scarf but I didn’t even have enough yarn for yarn chicken. 🤣 Both have kept me cozy throughout the years! 🧶
I have white and bright for #showmeyourknits! My white Flax sweater, which I still haven’t been able to wear yet (weather has been warm but I’m NOT complaining), and my Quaking Aspen Wrap, which I’m now able to work on again since Christmas knits are done. 🧶
I know it’s Socktober, but I’m so enamored with this wrap that it’s all I work on! It’s Purl Soho’s Quaking Aspen Wrap using their Full Bloom Minis Packet (which I won during the TKGA conference last April). 7 colors in and 13 more to go! 😁 🧶
I have hats for #showmeyourknits - big hats and small hats! Here are just a few. 🧶
This past Saturday I found a new LYS is Tavares, FL - Crochet Aweigh. The owner, Emily, was a delight! For a small and new shop, she has so many beautiful yarns! I purchased just a few items. 🤭 I see socks and a cowl, but I’m not sure what to do with the Seaspun yet. Yarn details in alt text.
