The one on the left was taken today, and I don’t water this area so it’s getting dry. The one on the right was taken in May and looks like a forest understory.
I volunteer with my dog at a care facility and the daughter of one of the residents surprised me with a painting she made of my dog. It perfectly captures her personality and is such a beautiful gift.

I’ve been watching this trout lily (Erythronium albidum) colony slow grow in my yard for many years and this is the first time it’s bloomed. I’m pretty excited that I have the right conditions for it!
