Combining these results with the biogeographic history since the last ice age, we argue that blackcap populations diverged through range expansion during the last glacial retreat, with divergent selection acting on genetic variation in the slope of the reaction norm for migratory liability. 10/n
We found that the amount of seasonal change in chromatin accessibility (i.e. the slope instead of the intercept), was reduced in multiple hypothalamic cell types in the resident blackcaps compared with ancestral migrants. 8/n
