Great to attend the launch of Green and Caring Homes for Gender and Climate Justice in Parliament, hosted by @womensbudgetgrp.bsky.social and Hannah Spencer MP. The links between housing, gender equality and climate are clear. Safe, sustainable homes are essential to people's wellbeing and rights.
🏥 Across the UK, where you live can cut your life short by as much as 16 years. Health is a human right. That’s why we’re supporting the amendments to the Health Bill, put forward by @healthequals.bsky.social to make tackling health inequalities part of the law. Read the letter 👇 bit.ly/4uxLfpy

This Fair Tax Week, we're calling for everyone to pay their fair share. Tax is how we fund the things we all rely on: healthcare, housing, education, social security & public services. A fair tax system is essential to realising economic, social and cultural rights. @fairtaxfoundation.bsky.social
📢 The latest The Food Foundation report shows the price gap between healthier and less healthy food is now at its widest level in over a decade. Food is a human right and this should act as a wake-up call for policymakers to take action. foodfoundation.org.u...
Nine years ago today, the Grenfell Tower fire claimed the lives of 72 people. This tragedy was a violation of the right to adequate housing which states that homes must guarantee physical safety. It is time the UK recognised housing as a human right in domestic law. 🏠✊
Great to be at this informative event today in Northern Ireland on the Dillon Judgement. Speakers warned this judgment risks hollowing out Article 2 of the Windsor Framework while leaving it formally intact. Strong concerns about regression in rights protections and the need for continued scrutiny.
We coordinated a letter, signed by 76 civil society orgs, to the UK Gov calling for economic, social & cultural rights to be brought into UK law. 50 years ago they promised rights including housing, food, and health. That promise remains unfulfilled. Read the letter 👇 justfair.org.uk/lett...
🏠 The new UN Special Rapporteur on the right to housing, Koldo Casla, was previously on our ESCR Network steering group. Here is what he had to say 👇
Most people agree: everyone should have a safe home, enough to eat, and support when times are hard. These aren’t radical ideas…they’re the foundations of a decent life. 50 years on, it’s time our laws caught up. #ICESCR50 #FoundationForEveryone #ESCRights justfair.org.uk/the-...
🚨 Breaking: 76 civil society orgs have written to the UK Gov calling for economic, social & cultural rights to be recognised. 50 years ago today, the UK ratified #ICESCR50 and promised rights including housing, food & health. That promise remains unfulfilled. Read 👇 justfair.org.uk/wp-content/u...

🍽️ We’re in Belfast today giving evidence to the Right to Food Commission. Making the right to food real means more than commitments, it requires action, accountability and dignity in practice. You can read about our submission to the right to food commission here 👇 justfair.org.uk/wp-content/u...
Today is International Workers’ Day! Work should provide the foundations for a decent life, not leave people struggling to get by. We need rights that are protected in practice, not just promised on paper. Read our blog justfair.org.uk/work-should-...
🚨 New figures released today show another record broken – 176,00 children growing up in temporary accommodation. Behind every number is a child without the stability of a safe home. Housing is a human right. These figures show that right is being denied.
📽️ Powerful intervention in the House of Lords from our patron Baroness Ruth Lister on asylum support. Rights must mean more than the bare minimum. People seeking asylum should be able to live with dignity, free from poverty and stigma. Language matters. Policy choices matter.
We are back from Geneva and one thing is clear: poverty is not inevitable. Across global discussions, the message was consistent: we need systems built on rights, accountability and participation, not just growth. Change is possible but it requires different choices.
Productive meetings in Geneva with teams supporting UN Special Rapporteurs on health, food and housing. We shared evidence on the state of economic, social and cultural rights in the UK and the gap between commitments and lived reality. Important conversations as pressure on these rights grows.
Today we’re in Geneva for a global conversation on tackling poverty beyond economic growth after we contributed to this roadmap. Poverty is not inevitable. It reflects how systems are designed and the choices we make. Great to be joining @deschuttero.bsky.social pushing for rights-based solutions.
