Light, nonspecific spoilers for Pandemic Legacy Season 0 in the image. We just finished November. One more game to go!! It’s been a lot of fun, a tough challenge, and a good time with friends.
The critters were out in force tonight! Got a burger made from local beef at the lake, then walked around and appreciated nature a bit.
Came home from the lake and found this magnificent fellow in our parking lot. I don’t care what it is, I’ll pick up any beetle. I love them so much. Li’l tanky boys.
It’s a perfect evening. A great horned owl is calling somewhere behind us, sonorous and beautiful. There’s a lovely breeze off the lake.
Okay, but like, would it be okay if I wore this shirt next time I saw my brother? 😂
At one point last night the trio was playing an accordion, a tuba, and a theremin. It rocked. They’re so talented. Each member of the band can play, like, 4 instruments. Truly impressive!
Hitting up Pleasant House Pub before the DeVotchka show. We love their steak and ale pies. It’s rare to find a Michelin starred restaurant with plates under $20.
Had to block YET ANOTHER gay acquaintance for posting pictures from transphobic wizard bullshit land. Their response? Excuses. Sorry, do better. Especially if you KNOW better.
Did some field sketches yesterday to get out of myself and connect with nature a little more closely. For a first attempt at this endeavor, I’m happy with how it turned out.
We played Juicy Fruits this morning before we hit the road. We all really enjoyed it! The slide puzzle mechanism was just the right amount of frustrating and rewarding. Everyone was scoring points in slightly different ways, and the game was pretty close. It’s a winner for me. Light euro. 1hr.
Hooray! Got all cleaned up. The local redneck speedway won’t know what hit them when I show up tonight. 😂🪦
We traveled 5 hours to cross this bridge. It’s been a fun little trip. Gonna grab a hotel and go back in the morning. We almost got to go to the Broom Palace, which was a museum in Arcola dedicated to brooms
In case anyone is curious, here’s the ALMOST top 100. See alt text on last image for 97-100.
Played a 4p game of Speakeasy this morning/afternoon. Took about 6 hours from setup to boxed. In a game covering 13 years, the most anyone sold booze was twice. How does that make any sense? The span was me with $90 and the winner with over $400. Almost all my shit got burnt down in the last round.
I told Jack I had to get up and go to work. Subtle claws in my hand say I’m staying.
Been saving our gift cards for years, and we finally got new luggage. They can’t be missed on an airport carousel, and they’re durable. After the gift cards, we paid about $30 for them. Success!
@stonemaiergames.com Jamey, I saw these artifacts in a local shop and wondered if you had connections to them at all:
I’m not mad about whatever this humidity is doing to my hair. Is that a single curl?! The only thing straight about me has always been my hair. This is new.
Robb got me a monocular handheld for my birthday, and he also included a camera mount and a microscope mount. It means I can get VERY close and far views of things. Nature will never see me coming.
So far my birthday has been pretty perfect. Maybe I’ll get out of bed today.
For the record, this game DOES NOT get old. We’ve played Hot Streak so many times, and we always cry laughing, scream, and curse. It’s so good.
This month’s Tuesday game night theme is 2-player games. Got to try Match of the Century (felt like a war game, and I surprisingly liked it) and Leaders (really cool powers, a bit akin to Onitama). I lost both, but they were fun! I also taught Hanamikoji, because they hadn’t played it!
Forgot to share Rosie’s skull after full processing. Have her sitting on my rose quartz on my altar. I’m curious what kind of raccoon life she lived.
