The audacity to try has allowed me to wrestle, review, tour, perform, write & create for a living. Mostly game, lift, and hang w/partner & cat in free time. 日本語でも
I did 99 push-ups in a row on Saturday. Couldn’t press up on the 100th. Could barely use my arms for 5 minutes after that. Then I did 40 more. And another 40. I’m almost 48 years old. Then I went to see Comedy Bang Bang. It was hilarious.
These are ::ahem:: Anti-Slip Workout Grips, Gym Grips Weight Lifting Grips Pads, Ergonomics Weight Lifting Gloves for Men Women Deadlift, Fitness Training and Exercise, Gym Grips Pads for Palm Protection
3rd time taking the weighted vest out. Post-workout: Put on 45lbs (20kg), then walk upstairs from floor 7 to floor 21, back down to floor 1, back up to 21, back down to 7. Takes a little over 20 min. First time I did it, I was sore for like 5 days. Thankfully that’s no longer the case.
Pics from the JLPT test excursion. I am not a seasoned test taker, so I failed to realize it’s not your general language knowledge on display, but how well you studied a very specific curriculum. Oh well. 自信がないけど、頑張ったな。
We bounce off RPGs often in the Team Leeper household. After very thoroughly beating FFX, DQ3 HD has yet to receive a 2nd play. Instead, Tonco wanted to play Paper Mario Thousand-Year Door, not realizing it’s a continuation on her beloved Mario RPG. I’m digging it, and this dude’s a big reason why!
Removing physical media means less ways to buy/own, and it means more obscure games could disappear. Example: the disc-only voxel-based Zelda-like 3D Dot Game Heroes on PS3 - a console whose digital store will be going away, so I did some browsing tonight (after mandatory firmware update)
Over at Game Informer, issue 113, @matthelgeson.bsky.social jumped on that hand-grenade for us. Though on the same page, I reviewed Street Hoops and Monster Jam: Maximum Destruction, which won just as many Game of the Year awards.
You thinks Starbucks are all over the place where you live? Friend, wait till you get a load of Sweet Corn vendors in Manchester - even in the summertime. That’s 3 within 15 meters of one another! Who needs that much corn?!
I had MMA gloves in 2002. That’s how cutting-edge I was! I was also skinny-fat! A wonder I never went further in my career. Born 10 yrs too soon, I guess. (Only relevant pic I could find. Never did a 2022 update)
Why yes, I did go to an underground idol show while I was in Japan earlier this month. And yes, it was like coming home. The group is Melon Batake a go-go, or めろん畑a go go in Japanese. Being remembered and welcomed back by staff, members & even fans after 5+ yrs was honestly heartwarming.
Counterargument. (There’s also a Hello Kitty collab, but I didn’t buy it)
Went to a pro-wrestling store in Suidobashi Tokyo called “Champion.” Had many negative reviews citing owner. “Hmmm,” I thought. Guy ended up being a kind & passionate wrestling fan whom I had a truly great chat with. Store is sweet, too. He gifted me a Brody mag cuz I asked if he had Brody merch.
My game haul from Japan. Top row is new. Some prices don’t account for sales.

Listening to my 20-yr-old iPod Mini on my 11-yr-old Beats Pill. Cuz why not?
I am watching a documentary on El Duce of The Mentors, filmed in ‘90 and ‘91. A lot of GWAR involvement in interviews and such. The stories they told me about El Duce was…incredible. I don’t know what was a work and what’s a shoot with the guy.
