Our stance on AI-generated music
Hi,
AI music generation tools are changing how music is created and distributed. As this technology evolves, Tidal is introducing platform standards to protect artists, their craft, and inform listeners.
Here are the highlights of our new AI Policy:

Tidal will identify and tag AI-generated music in our app. Listeners will see an "AI" badge next to music we detect as wholly AI-generated.
Tidal will not tolerate AI-generated music that impersonates an artist or group, or that facilitates fraudulent activity. We're implementing automatic tools to remove these releases immediately and on an ongoing basis.
Tidal will not allow music that is 100% AI-generated to be monetized. No royalties will go to such releases, nor will AI-generated uploads be eligible for direct-to-fan sales.
We will expand these policies to music that is substantially AI-generated when AI detection technology is sufficiently reliable to do so.

You'll start seeing these changes from July 15.

The success of neo-Nazi great replacement politicians in the twenty-first century often hinges on the success of their most basic renovations — how completely they strip the core ideas down to their structure, while superficially decorating their political theory with new embellishments. The more they remove the Nazi underpinnings from view, the more they entice electoral support for their neo-Nazi project.

Neo-Nazi great replacement theorists do not need to admire Nazis to be neo-Nazis, just as children do not need to admire their parents to be their children. What matters is genealogy. A genealogy of theory and tactics.

Here's the summary of the bill.

That Act, among other things,
(a) imposes on the operators of regulated services
(i) a duty to act responsibly in respect of the regulated so-
cial media services that they operate, including by imple-
menting measures that are adequate to mitigate the risk
that users will be exposed to harmful content on the ser-
vices, by providing tools to users to enable them to block
other users and flag harmful content and by labelling syn-
thetic content,
(ii) a duty to act responsibly in respect of the regulated
chatbot services that they operate, including by imple-
menting measures that are adequate to mitigate the risk
that the chatbot will communicate harmful content to a us-
er, measures to ensure intervention in crisis situations and
measures that are adequate to mitigate the risk that the
chatbot will engage in certain harmful behaviours,
(iii) a duty to protect children in respect of all of the regu-
lated services that they operate by integrating into those
services design features that are set out in the regulations,
by implementing minimum-age restrictions for accessing
pornographic content on regulated services, and, if pro-
vided for by regulations, by implementing minimum-age
restrictions for being able to have an account with, or be-
ing otherwise registered with, regulated social media ser-
vices,
(iv) a duty, in respect of the regulated social media ser-
vices that they operate, to make inaccessible to persons in
Canada, in certain circumstances, content on that service
that sexually victimizes a child or revictimizes a survivor
and intimate content communicated without consent, and
(v) a duty to be transparent in respect of all of the regulat-
ed services that they operate, including by submitting a
digital safety plan to the Digital Safety Commission of
Canada to assist it in determining whether an operator is
complying with its duties under that Act;
(b) authorizes the Governor in Council to make regulations to
make the operators of other online services …

(c) provides that persons in Canada may make a complaint
to the Digital Safety Commission of Canada that content on a
regulated social media service is content that sexually victim-izes a child or revictimizes a survivor or intimate content
communicated without consent and authorizes the Commis-
sion to make an order requiring the operator of the service to
make that content inaccessible to persons in Canada if the
person making the complaint has used their best efforts to
seek recourse from the operator of the service under that Act;
and
(d) provides that persons in Canada may make submissions
to the Digital Safety Commission of Canada respecting the
measures taken by the operator of a regulated service to
comply with its duties under that Act.
Part 2 enacts the Digital Safety Commission of Canada Act,
which establishes the Digital Safety Commission of Canada,
which has powers, duties and functions under the Digital Safety
Act. The Part also makes consequential amendments to other
Acts.

Joint statement from Canada, Australia, France, Germany, Italy, New Zealand and the United Kingdom condemning settlement expansion in the West Bank, warning companies that bid on construction contracts could face legal consequences.

“Statement by the leaders of Canada, Australia, France, Germany, Italy, New Zealand and the United Kingdom on the situation in the West Bank.

Over the past few months, the situation in the West Bank has deteriorated significantly. Settler violence is at unprecedented levels. The policies and practices of the Israeli government, including a further entrenchment of Israeli control, are undermining stability and prospects for a two-state solution.

International law is clear: Israeli settlements in the West Bank are illegal. Construction projects in the E1 area would be no exception.

The E1 settlement development would divide the West Bank in two and mark a serious breach of international law.

Businesses should not bid for construction tenders for E1 or other settlement developments. They should be aware of legal and reputational consequences of participating in settlement construction including the risk of involving themselves in serious breaches of international law.

We call on the Government of Israel to end its expansion of settlements and administrative powers, ensure accountability for settler violence and investigate allegations against Israeli forces, respect the Hashemite custodianship over Jerusalem’s Holy Sites and the historic status quo arrangements, and lift financial restrictions on the Palestinian Authority and the Palestinian economy. We strongly oppose those, including members of the Israeli government, who argue for annexation and forcible displacement of the Palestinian population.

We reaffirm our unwavering commitment to a comprehensive, just and lasting peace based on a negotiated two-state solution in accordance with relevant UN Security Council resolutions where two democratic states, Israel and Palestine, live side by side in peace and security within secure and recognised borders.”
