May i suggest a slightly different take on the same idea? (Source: Danger 5)
Beat @scumhead.bsky.social's Mohrta, and despite a couple of rough edges I'd say it's still one of the loveliest things I've played this year. I may try a second run with a different set of weapons, even though I did like the arsenal I stuck to by the end of it.
Currently at the halfway point of @scumhead.bsky.social's Mohrta, and i think this is the first time i'm finding myself describing an FPS game as "somber". My only complaint is the music transitions, which trigger weirdly sometimes. Everything else is as delightful as it gets.
Beat the first stage of @hyynma.bsky.social's Vernal Edge, and aside from the incredible world map reveal i got at the end, I'm very happy to see what's essentially character action Cave Story unfold before my eyes. Lovely stuff.
Beat Automaton Heart, and I finally realized why both this and Automaton Lung struck such a chord with me: I watched way too much Code Lyoko as a child.
Automaton Heart is a pretty cool videogame, athough i recommend playing the previous too ("Automaton Lung", 2022) if you want some otherwise unassuming things to actually hit you.
Playing In Other Waters after seeing it on @nocapsbb.bsky.social's deep sea games video. The fact that that video was the first time i've heard of this game in 6 years since release is an utter failure of whatever's left of gaming coverage and media. Not a peep. Absolutely outrageous.
Don't wanna split this answer into like 5 posts, so here you go. If i misread the original argument then I'm dumb and you're free to think less of me. Good day, sir.
It has a lot of out of pocket moments and a lot of "what if this very cool device could fuck up massively" moments that i always love to see. Also it has a detail about *the* Sol Bianca i think you'll enjoy a lot. Just watch which subs you find: the 90s ones are lively but probably less accurate.
Space pirates born after 2368 can't cook, all they do is drink, serve cunt, snipe from orbit and plunder.
Watched Sol Bianca (1991), an OVA that feels like it fell from the same tree as Cat's Eye and Bubblegum Crisis. While the narrative of both OVAs isn't much to write home about, its vision of a sci-fi future is delightful and eerily close to what i've been trying to channel in my team's works.
The Luce looks alright if a bit generic. I understand it doesn't entirely look "like a ferrari", but based on some of their recent designs i can confidently say this could have gone worse.
Meanwhile others are like "do you prefer a bad game or a good game", or "how do these completely different experiences stack up against each other" - which is equally silly but less educational.
The craziest thing about the new artstyle is that Pigma came out of it with the brightest glowup of the bunch. Absolutely baffling how cool he looks (and sounds) now.
I understand why they did this, but i still think it looks silly at best and kind of uncanny at worst.
And that's true, but it's also like a character sheet for *stats* and *status effects*, something i understand to be not exactly the standard for journaling games? Like, I'm so saying i'm someone who managed to put a measure of crunch in a game about writing a diary lol.
I've also been playing a bunch of Star Fox 64 thanks to [that thing] making it basically hassle free to do so on [the proper hardware]. It's hard to admit the 3DS remake really screwed with my perception of this game, and I like it a lot more now that I played the original.
Brush Burial: Gutter World is a pretty good videogame. It's like Thief but with the brakes cut.
