“Most every guy I know did what he’s being accused of at one point or another with their girlfriend at some point after a night of drinking,” complained the Donald Trump-loving comedian Adam Carolla on Sunday’s episode of his eponymous podcast. “It’s basically like: I’m drunk, I’m horny, I weigh 50 pounds more than you, we’re gonna have sex, it’s not really rape because we sleep in the same bed.”

Platner officially dropped out of his race on July 10 after Jenny Racicot, an ex-partner, accused him of breaking into her home in the middle of the night in 2021 while drunk, and forcing her to have sex. When Carolla’s producer asked if he considered what he described as rape, the podcaster replied, “That’s standard drunken blue collar dude behavior.”

I highly recommend @kimberlecrenshaw’s memoir, Backtalker. Professor Crenshaw is the legal scholar who was at the forefront of the Critical Legal Studies movement and coined the terms “critical race theory” and “intersectionality.”

DETROIT LAKES, Minn. (Valley News Live) - A Detroit Lakes man is facing a felony assault charge after police say he shoved a 10-foot aluminum pipe into another man's chest during a dispute over a missing chainsaw, then used a hand scythe to destroy the man's phone.
Micah Scott Ailie, 43, was charged Tuesday in Becker County District Court with one felony count of second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon, one misdemeanor count of domestic assault, and one misdemeanor count of intentional damage to property. The felony charge carries a maximum sentence of seven years in prison, a $14,000 fine, or both.

During a search incident to arrest, a deputy found a burnt glass pipe on Ailie. Ailie later admitted it was his and told police he had been prescribed ADHD medication but found it too expensive, so he used
methamphetamine as a substitute and had used it the day of the incident.
