@juststeller
lawyer, feminist, elder millennial the FDA approved mifepristone in 2000. it is a safe and legal way to end a pregnancy. healthcare is a right not a privilege. the Trump DOJ is corrupt. demand more on abortion rights from the senate dem candidates
The liberal media is also misreading the 2022 OLC opinion on the Comstock Act; the Comstock Act itself; all of the case law interpreting the Comstock Act; basically every admin law case since Biden left office — strike that, since Loper Bright. And Jay Bhattacharya is not the acting CDC Director.
congrats to Spain, and all, but one last time I have to point out — New York New Jersey Stadium (the artist formerly known as MetLife) is ten minutes from New Jersey’s concentration camp. imagine if the people handing out trophies cared about human life
The description of the law in the article is inaccurate. The law applies to anyone (not only doctors) who possesses with the intent to distribute mifepristone. **However, mere possession is not a crime (which is what the Lt Gov implied). And the SCOTUS stay was may 14, not May 4.
Outsiders think New Jersey is just a caricature but (1) we do a have a Jersey Shore Medical Center; (2) we do have a town of Neptune; and (3) we do have a large orthodox Jewish community so it makes sense that we also have Hatzolah divisions-including Jersey Shore Hatzolah. Um, our news is real 🤦🏻♀️
Maybe the Democrats stop listening to white dudes in their mid to late 40s? Or, specifically, the group of super annoying white dudes from California. “This story is really bad…” No shit, bro.
The following state attorneys general support Todd Blanche for AG: Alabama Alaska Arkansas Florida Georgia Idaho Indiana Iowa Kansas Kentucky Louisiana Missouri Mississippi Montana Nebraska Ohio Oklahoma North Dakota South Carolina South Dakota Tennessee Utah West Virginia
These women deserve the thanks from women across this nation for getting New Jersey’s shield law passed in the legislature, and I was especially moved by Assemblywoman Speight’s opening and Assemblywoman Peterpaul’s mid-discussion argument yesterday. Legendary. Thank you. 🎉
Unless it’s a repost, I’ve read the primary source (legal documents) before I post. I think it’s déclassé when journalists & content creators exploit women’s pain +suffering for clickbait, but it’s especially offensive when they repeatedly cover the topic inaccurately. Lynn Callaway of TX suffered
props to this corrupt ass fifth circuit panel (dunwickhardt) for at least pretending to consider defendants’ oppositions to Louisiana’s motion to expedite oral arguments — it waited 4 whole days to write this unreasoned order granting the motion. #mifepristone #abortion #louisiana #CA5
It’s remarkable that everyone believes Platner’s lies, but I’m sick of correcting them. If you guys think Susan Collins is to blame for Dobbs, and if you guys think that Platner, Talarico, and Ossoff can “codify Roe v. Wade” as a solution to our problems, then I wish you luck.
Men, you sound ignorant when you say “codify roe v. wade” — its legally impossible to codify overturned precedent. And, women don't want roe v. wade. That's the fucking floor. Have you not been paying attention? We want more than not to “needlessly” die. More than just contraception and IVF!
Helpful reminder that New Jersey is already suing the United States and the GEO group and has also already sued CoreCivic and the United States is also suing New Jersey. New Jersey is not just twiddling its fucking thumbs. And federal detention is not a new fucking problem. Share information.
⚖️ update: US v. City of Newark (click through to the first table, it’s one of the original lawsuits - the us suing Newark over its sanctuary city policy) - the doj filed Newark’s new Delaney hall policy with the court yesterday and claimed Newark is discriminating against the US. Can’t make it up.
@politico.com: fire @mattfriedmannj.bsky.social His utter contempt for women is obvious. He’s made himself part of the story and his reporting is biased; he only features antiabortion sources. The legislation was introduced in 2024, not “quickly advancing”! #abortion is too important. Fire him.
Talarico and Platner must have listened to this dude, who says things like gender reassignment surgery for kids and late term elective abortions are definitely the same kind of thing and definitely don’t happen! Why protect the rights of kids and women? Silly!
It drives me crazy that no one listens to what men say and write. Neither Platner nor Talarico affirmatively support abortion rights or trans rights. Post Dobbs, there is no “Roe v. Wade” or “right to choose” to protect! Roe would be the FLOOR. I don’t see anything on genderaffirming care.
Jay Bhattacharya isn’t the Acting Director of the CDC, but the Wall Street Journal published his opinion about his response to Ebola under that title! The top headline should be that he’s acting unlawfully, and THAT’S the greatest threat to our public health! This situation at the #CDC is OOC.
⚖️ As I anticipated last wknd (when I posted this neat table), NJ filed another lawsuit RE #delaneyhall: Washington v. The GEO Group. Filed June 2 in state court; . GEO had it removed to federal court the SAME day—before the corp had even been served(!?) Hijinks. I made a new table in purple.
Fuck Jeff Van Drew. This is the purple problem with New Jersey I’m not sure everyone understands:
Here’s a fuller picture of the Delaney Hall legal landscape — in addition to NJ’s lawsuits against the GEO Group, the United States is also suing us in two lawsuits. And we’re also suing the U.S. over the Roxbury facility. I didn’t include the criminal indictment of LaMonica McIver in this table.
Administrative stay is extended. We’ve seen this song and dance before. #abortion #mifepristone #Danco #GenbioPro #SCOTUS
Danco v. Louisiana & GenBioPro v. Louisiana — stays extended by Justice Alito until 5:00pm on Thursday, May 14, 2026.
