Last picture of a thing I made today. I had to fight with it for a bit to get the lid off. It was really stubborn, and I had to freeze it first to shrink the clay and then smack it a bit with the rubber end of a hammer to get the lid off.
When I was a little kid, I went on a field trip to the Art Institute and remember being a little bratty philistine about modern and contemporary art when I encountered Rothko for the 1st time. I appreciate the docent who educated eleven-year-old me. It stuck with me my whole life.

I found a cool mirror at a vintage shop last weekend in Indiana and hung it up today in my living room.
I went the the 63rd street beach yesterday for the first time and it was a delight.
So I just put on this old Swans album and lit some incense like I am 20 or something.
Rescued an old Sony receiver my dad hadn't used in a decade or so and finally set up my turntable properly.
I took the sandwich to Humboldt Park to eat and almost got into a fight with a bird over it.
