Somehow, this is a still from a docudrama about one of the UK's most harrowing serial killers. They've just found a woman with 47 stab wounds and a 2yo child clinging to her that the police and British press (both notorious arseholes) are going to harry for details.

New TypeScript is a bit shit. Hundreds of errors and obtuse deprecations again 😔

Removed it. I'm not even sure how it stood up, with almost all the weight of the fake chimney across thermal bricks that come apart like polystyrene.

I like this analysis, and "comprehension debt" is a great term for it! I've seen this kind of codeslop in the wild, a kind of double edged sword that stops juniors from learning while also eating seniors' time to block it.

And the inversion is sharper than it looks. When code was expensive to produce, senior engineers could review faster than junior engineers could write. AI flips this: a junior engineer can now generate code faster than a senior engineer can critically audit it. The rate-limiting factor that kept review meaningful has been removed. What used to be a quality gate is now a throughput problem.

Why any of this? Why put a massive fake joist in if there's no weight on it? If it was supposed to take the ceiling, how was that supposed to work when it's just resting on thermal bricks?

Trick question! The answer is neither! The fireplace is lightweight thermal bricks but comes apart like Jenga anyway, and the big structural looking 'joist' is actually 3× smaller ones just resting on the brick. Everything wobbles, nothing is load bearing.

We bought an old vicarage, and as well as being full of junk it has the largest 80s fireplace I've ever seen. Above it runs a joist, with a naff plaster wood effect. So, is the joist holding the ceiling up, or is the fireplace?

Despite it being an official account for one of the most known news organisations in the world, it has almost no engagement, with 12 replies (all from blue tick chuds) and just 4 retweets.
