Conservatives repackaged the old "gay agenda" accusations: claims of converting/preying on children, denying biology because being gay isn't "natural" for reproduction, & saying they shouldn't be in same sex spaces.

Do you think Dems should have impeached Trump retroactively, given that he wasn't in the office when Blden was the president?

FYI: during Biden presidency, Dems controlled the House for 2 years and the Senate (with O seat majority) for the other two years; i.e. voters never gave them full control.

I think Biden and Garland should have treated Trump like the threat to democracy he was, instead of delaying accountability and then delegating the prosecution until it was too late because they were afraid of appearing partisan.

Rather than demanding Biden & Garland do something they couldn't do in a democracy, voters could have voted for Clinton in 2016.

And if that's too hard, with the benefit of hindsight they could have voted for Harris in 2024. It would be better than claiming the lack of agency.

You're treating Dems like smol beans by shifting responsibility from the officials who held power back onto voters. Dem leaders have agency.

SCOTUS immunity came in 2024. Garland didn't appoint Jack Smith until Nov 2022, nearly 2 years after Jan 6. The later ruling doesn't erase the earlier delay.

Both can be true:
-Voters are responsible for elections.
-Officials are responsible for how they use, or fail to use, their power.

Biden and Garland couldn't guarantee the outcome, but they had lawful options and failed to use them with the urgency the threat required.
