see the massive jungle-ass squash climbing up the clothesline pole, I sowed a few seeds in a dry patch of sod this spring and then lowkey forgot about it until every single seed germinated and they are taking over that corner now

husband smoked steaks for dinner, I made a stir fried greens side from my garden: rainbow chard, pea pods, and radish seed pods (delicious) with lots of garlic and lemon realized it was the perfect chance to try out the salts from my parents trip to Iceland, berry was especially good with the steak

picked up a gateway wind chime at the Chinese market the other day for $2.99 now I feel the overwhelming need for 3 more of various sizes and materials. need a large bamboo one immediately

a little yellow house wind chime with a yellow windmill on it with a red circle center. the house has a green door and a blue roof, with small metal chimes a few inches long hanging from black cord and a metal washer center piece for the chimes to hit against

the wooden weight was a plain grey so I repainted it orange and then one side blue, one side yellow, and then did a starburst pattern in yellow on the blue side, and in blue on the yellow side

I will probably repaint the grey platform and the red center of the windmill to match the orange of the weight edges. and add some windows and more details

most of the daikons will go to seed to save for fall and next spring got too hot too soon for them to get established, and tbf I wasn’t brave enough to sow until the overnight temps stopped consistently freezing MN spring is getting shorter, hotter, and drier, fall cool crops should do much better

back twos are the doomed daikon that wanted cooler temps and are shooting off flower stalks now. letting many go to seed but will also harvest some of the tasty greens and any nice roots we may get from the second sowing that isn’t bolting quite yet 🫡
