We give our cat a smidgen of tuna, so maybe a bit of salt. But it’s better to be safe. Our other cat loves salted chips (altho we make every effort to keep him and ourselves away from them). And our other cat is an angel and not a problem 💖
It’s a mere 86F. I allowed Moon Pie the fearless out back as she insisted. This girl is made of tempered steel, having been a street savvy hunter for the first 6 months of her cat life. Brought low by the wet heat. She found a watering puddle and was face down licking up the moisture. In the house!
Our daughter is chronically ill with MCAS and loves her cat daughter who sleeps with her and clearly loves her. The emotional support Moon Pie offers our girl is worth a therapist and a nurse. How do they know?
Our cat Fig is called Mr. Butterman for obvious reasons. Fig has delight in all things butter, especially butter sticks.
We tried. I installed a bidirectional cat door but only 1 cat out of 3 figured out how to use it (Moon Pie, of course) . More training needed 😔 Now we open the door and monitor who goes in/out. About $100 of trackers are worn around their necks.
Our 14.5 pound cowcat is pretty much solid and quick muscle. Moon Pie is like a Zen huntress of rodents, reminds us who is boss daily, also loves us. Is she a chonk? I’m not going to say it to her face… I like intact skin ❤️🩹
This is very much the case. I recall moving bees following a queen out of a fence line into a bucket. I used my bare hands to transfer them. No stings. The bees are at their most docile, but typically are flying all over the place and it looks like a horror movie. Scares the hell out of civilians.

Sorry. I’ve been dealing with good and bad today. The Trump administration is taking away benefits from disabled Veterans (such as myself), we met a new sweet girl neighbor and my daughter spotted Cedar Waxwings feasting on serviceberry in the parking lot of Wegmans 👍🏼
I’m glad to know this. I find immobile 🐝 on flowers and try and feed them sugar water. Best left alone, I guess. They are so welcome in the garden ❤️

Our cats don’t nibble, they feast on grass, the blades and seed heads. It’s helps settle their tummies 😻
The argument for messy rewilding is that nature is messy, not tidy. Anyone who thinks otherwise is still trapped in the “tidy” mentality that ends up as often mowed monoculture lawns and yards 🤢
My cats could care less about beautiful Forget Me Not unless it’s dried out and edible (not toxic). They love seed heads of most grasses (also non-toxic). The cats are not connoisseurs of floral displays or foliage, but they love grass they can chew …
Very familiar. Fig looks directly at me and stares (we call it peepering) as if he just can’t figure the F out what I’m doing or why. And he’ll peeper for a good minute or more answering the cat questions behind his eyes. Normally, I don’t disturb him. I like to cogitate as well.
